Amel again! I’ve been braiding his hair lately and a friend told me to make him an Egyptian-style outfit… and somehow I ended up making an 18th-century one too.

Had to make a matching outfit for Lestat of course. I FINALLY HAVE MY TWINS

Has the show changed Akasha's arc?

Does anyone else find this 'no voices' line odd? It might be nothing, but I have some thoughts. To me it definitely sounds like she's yearning for more voices, for there to be more vampires.

(Book lore and spoilers for Akasha/qotd & Amel/Prince Lestat arc ahead...)

That's the opposite of her impetus in the book: Akasha, and later Amel, burn a bunch of vamps upon awakening. Both times it's to prune the branches and consolidate their power. They don't actually want too many vamps to be made, bc it dilutes the bloodline (results in weaker fledglings) and stretches the 'sacred core' thin (weakens Amel himself).

The second culling by Amel always felt repetitive to me. And like everyone else I've assumed the show would just combine Akasha and Amel into one single storyline. But now with this 'no voices' bit, I wonder...

What if Akasha doesn't burn the covens now? What if she's actively calling for the great conversion?

Her ultimate goal is still world domination under her matriarchal rule ofc. But instead of compelling women to kill their husbands and sons (which could be risky to adapt), she just uses the great conversion now.

That way the show can set up a conflict of interest between her and Amel (as already foreshadowed by her stream of consciousness ramblings in ep. 5). The burnings could then be Amel's counter measure to her spreading the dark gift.

So, team great conversion = Akasha/Gabriella/Talamasca vs team Amel/the twins/humanity = the great family?

For those who haven't read all the books: before he became the vampire core Amel was attached to the twin witches first. And in platroa he's revealed to have been a hero/protector of his people once upon a time.

If they keep Akasha as the unequivocal villain, having Amel secretly undermine her, would reflect that. Don't get me wrong, it's not good vs evil. Amel's still a bloodthirsty evil spirit who just happens to want less vamp babies. It'd be more of a tug of war between two evils.

Pitching Amel against Akasha would inevitably spell vampire civil war, right? And where would that leave our favorite messy vampires?

I wonder if instead of makare becoming the new queen of the damned as the solution to the akasha problem it's lestat.

akasha became the first vampire because amel's spirit became one with her body. amel lost their being and amel became akasha and then every other vampire as the gift was shared. if lestat becomes the knew heart of all vampires in akasha's death, that could explain why the future lestat who is recording the failures identifies himself as amel.

I am NOT saying I want this to happen. I love makare and maharet in the books. even if this hypothetical comes true akasha already spoke of a women without a tounge in her rambling (makare) so its not like they would take away the twins.

i do think daniel is going to die. well, i think his heart is going to stop. but i DON'T think it will be permanent. and i also don't think it will involve any bodyswap nonsense. however, i do think that he is going to become severed from the spirit amel and the sacred core, and maybe the first one to be so
