Amelia Ryder inspiration

The main reason Amelia takes Andy to a bar in the second episode of our second season is because she’s (partially) inspired by Marion Ravenwood (not to be confused with Ravenswood University).

I loved Marion’s introduction in Raiders of the Lost Ark (character introductions in general are amazing in that movie). The scene between Amelia/Andy was initially written for an unused episode of season 1, The Gallery at Midnight. I wanted the audience to be introduced to Amelia Ryder as someone who’d pull a gun on another character, but then take them out for a drink and offer them help.

That episode didn’t work out, we got introduced to Amelia another way, but I’m happy I was still able to use that interaction between Amelia and Andy.
