what if twilight knew yor was his soulmate from the very start, but he had to bury everything away for the sake of his mission.

what if yor came into this sham marriage with a heavy heart, knowing her soulmate is still somewhere out there, maybe looking for her too.

what if twilight came into this sham marriage as an opportunity to see what kind of life he could've had with her without the war or his mission haunting him.

hi so this is a slight expansion of one of the Avery headcanons I listed on this post,

regarding the "Avery is a jack of all trades and master of none" & "Avery doesn't have any true ambitions" thing,

these traits would make him a pretty great vessel for TKIY lmao.

if TKIY wants to take over the real world, he'd want a vessel who is capable of doing anything.

and that's exactly why in d3rlord3's message, he believes that Avery is capable of great things.

hello I have some kinda sad Avery headcanons

spoiler warning for both parts of AWTDE

what I can gather from Wifies' QnAs and the story itself, Avery has a normal nuclear family, he is sometimes "not good enough" to do things, he probably went to the same college as Derek to be able to have access to Derek's laptop in the first place, and he was alone for 15 hours on New Year's Eve.

okay here's the actual HCs:

- Avery was a child prodigy. A jack of all trades and a master of none. The constant praise as a child led him to not really learning how to study properly, so he started to struggle against any subjects he can't just skim through.

- After suddenly failing certain subjects, he made a point to always make sure he can get a passing grade, in fear of disappointment from the people around him.

- Any possible siblings started to have this subtle but deep-rooted resentment towards him growing up.

- He isn't particularly ambitious. Yes, he has hobbies, but the hobbies stay as hobbies. This can also apply to his PvP skills.

- After starting college, he didn't talk to his family much. His parents expected him to do well on his own because, well, he was a prodigy. And he didn't chat with his siblings beyond the occasional memes.

- He has some friends at college, but none who could be close enough to check up on him during New Year's Eve.

- Depression from the loneliness and inability to be good enough to be cared about by others. It led him back to Minecraft, and to Derek.

- He had no plans for New Year's or New Year's Eve, so he could spend a lot of time searching for Derek. Because Derek cared enough to warn him. And Derek was quite literally the only person he was hanging out with during New Year's Eve, so Avery grew desperate.

- His depression got worse after losing Derek. He'd wake up and question why he'd have to get out of bed in the first place. But he still gets up, because Derek (who has infinite knowledge) told him he was capable of doing great things.

- Despite everything, Avery still gets up because he refuses to let Derek's sacrifice go in vain.
