A bright butterfly skipping from flower to flower in a white clover patch! This species is probably the most frustrated I've been while photographing a butterfly in a while. They're extremely energetic and very skittish, a terrible combination for macros. I had to follow this individual for far too long just to get these three shots. Despite these butterflies being gorgeous and absolutely everywhere in NH, I cut my losses after the first one and decided to put my energy into other insects. I'm fine with admiring them from afar—for now, at least!
