“He’s wrong, and my being an ass doesn’t make him any less wrong!” Crossing his arms over his chest, Alexander huffed, well aware that he was blowing the situation way out of proportion, but, even so, finding himself ever unwilling to let it go. “He’s trying to pull one over on me, on Washington, too, Marie,” he said, voice leveling back out, lacking most of the nerves from before, “if I let everything he’s saying slide, everyone will laugh-”
The Frenchwoman listened to Alexander rant as she calmly sipped her cup of coffee. She then leaned back after placing the cup back onto the saucer. She would never understand the rivalry between her two friends. It was a wonder how on good earth did Marie managed to befriend both Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. They were, actually, very similar. Unfortunately their pride is one of the things they had in common.
