If You can find these used for a fairly reasonable price they are a great platform for modifying. In stock form these are tone less. The chassis ,power amp and tube set are the same as a Silver fave Twin reverb so if you want to stay within the Fender style amp voicing you are part way there. Getting it to breathe that great tube amp tone lies within modifying the preamp section, bias circuit and phase inverter portion of the circuit. I included a schematic which I used as a starting point.
