I'll be tying my fan theory into some popular fan theories. Credit goes to those proper theorists.
Thoth (Mike)
Parents:
There are a few versions of his birth:
Self-created.
Born from Ra’s lips. (Is Mike's father actually Henry?)
Born from Set’s forehead and the seed of Horus. (Does Mike's birth have to do with the Upside Down?)
Role:
God of magic, writing, and wisdom (Mike is Paladin and a writer).
Judged the deceased souls for the “weighing of the heart” ceremony (Mike is the heart of the Party).
Referred to as the keeper of memory (Fans theorize Mike has something to do with memories, such as losing and/or restoring them).
Abilities:
Master architect of cosmic order and the underworld (Fans theorize that Mike unknowingly created or designed the Upside Down).
Manifested realities by uttering words. (Mike’s spoken predictions often come true).
Ruler of dreams and a bridge between realms, guiding souls through the nightly journey of sleep.
Relationships:
Thoth (Mike) acted as counselor and healer to Horus (Will) during his battles with Set (Mindflayer/Vecna/Henry).
Thoth (Mike) was the primary scribe to Ra (Vecna/Henry). (Is Mike serving and/or being controlled by Vecna/Henry?)
Evidence That Mike Has Powers (So Far):
Mike's DND character is a Paladin, who is a magician with healing abilities. A Paladin's source of power comes from his oath, tying into the fan theory that Mike broke his oath to Will and has been worshiping Eleven as a false god.
Emgamble1989 on X/Twitter's Love Wins group chat noticed that Mike looks like he has a nosebleed at the end of The Sorcerer.
The lighting design here is foreshadowing his powers!
@PlayerTheorist on Twitter/X theorized that Finn Wolfhard's haircut has something to do with Mike being a test subject/patient:
Predictions for Mike's Powers:
Can Mike manipulate reality like Thoth?
Did Mike unknowingly created or helped design the Upside Down?
Did Mike unknowingly created a new reality that the Party is all stuck in?
Or if it's Conformity Gate, is Mike is the only one who can break everyone out of Vecna's trance?
Will Mike heal or resurrect Will with a love confession and/or a kiss?
Conclusion:
I believe Mike from Stranger Things is based of Thoth from Egyptian Mythology and possesses powers that we have yet to see. I also think they will tie into Conformity Gate.
