cuties hanging out at the beach behind Havenfield with Amy
Sometimes i think about the fact that Amy will one day be a part of a tiny speck of time in Sophie’s life… I like to think that Sophie will track her family line and discreetly watch over them.
sophie-amy doomed sisterhood is not talked about enough cause what do you mean sophie has to live with the knowledge that she will outlive her little sister because of the difference between elf/human lifespans
Posting the first chapters as soon as I understand how this AO3 thingy works... Edit: it's out!
Sophie and Amy make me sick. Like imagine how Amy might have felt her whole life with Sophie. The girl who always overshadowed her, always was the standard she was measured against. Amy is beautiful, but Sophie was more beautiful. Amy is smart, but Sophie is a child prodigy. Her whole family revolves around Sophie. Imagine the jealousy that created in young Amy. And how Sophie probably wasn't a great older sister, which is expected for a child like her, defenitly don't hate my pookie for that of all things. And how Sophie knew this. How she thought Amy didn't care, that she was unlovable even by her own little sister. How Amy was the bad child to Sophie's golden child. How Amy was the popular girl to Sophie’s loner. How they fought all the time.
How Sophie was brutally ripped away from her family at age twelve. How Amy forgot about her sister after age nine. How she could feel an absence, never knowing what it was, never knowing Sophie. How they were united five days after Amy saw the unimaginable, five days after she saw her parents get kidnapped. Five days in which she was probably questioning her sanity, seeing the impossible. How she didn’t trust her sister but slowly learnt to - and I’m not sure if the trust is complete even now. How Sophie kept missing her sister. But when she actually got the opportunity to talk to her, spend more time with her, she doesn’t use it. How Sophie only hails Amy when she needs something, or Keefe needs something, never for just Amy. And how Amy is the only one in the whole human world knowing about elves. How Amy desperately wants her sister to reach out, but she doesn’t. (“Talk soon” - Stellarlune, [Wish on…]) Don’t tell me she isn’t holding in any resentment for that.
do you think amy flinches sometimes when she's called natalie?
do you think it took her a few calls from teachers to remember that that is her name now?
do you think she might look in the mirror and say the two names out loud, trying to figure out which feels more like her now that she knows there's a before and an after?
do you think her parents talk about memories she doesn't have, and she has to play along with no idea what she's supposed to be remembering?
do you think she misses her old house, her old room, her old things, which are sitting in a storehouse in mysterium gathering dust?
do you think she looks at family albums and wonders how many pictures are missing? how many are even truly real?
do you think marty sleeps on her pillow, and she cries as she tells him she misses sophie too?
One day Sophie will check in with Amy and realize Amy now looks older than her.
One day Sophie will cheek in and be greeted with a grave.
Dex's siblings are like the same age as Amy btw.
