Little Women (2019, Greta Gerwig)
11/07/2025
𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐀𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐌𝐚𝐧: 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞!!! 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕!!!
I know we are generally Wary of Greta Gerwig’s take on Narnia, but in the light of her co-producer saying it will be “all about rock and roll,” let us PLEASE take a moment to realize 1) the statement is antithetical to everything Gerwig herself has said about adapting the books, and 2) it doesn’t… really… mean… anything. It sounds like the kind of statement someone might say if they don’t want you to actually be able to guess what they’re doing.
Greta Gerwig has talked about looking at her adaptations as a collaboration with her childhood self and C. S. Lewis— neither of which are going to be telling her to bring literal rock and roll into the equation.
This is not me saying that everyone should have 100% faith in her, but, goodness gracious, this is the last thing we should be reading anything into. 😮💨
An Emotional Sci-Fi Space Adventure:
Project: Hail Mary (2026)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
[Re-upload, originally watched April 25, 2026, but account was terminated]
Last night I went to see Project Hail Mary! I went in completely blind... no trailer, no reviews, never read the book. I just heard it was good and had something to do with space. I can confirm that’s true, and I’m keeping this vague on purpose because this feels like a movie everyone should experience spoiler-free!
I almost hesitate to bring up Interstellar, because this doesn’t reach the same legendary status, but you can definitely taste some of the same ingredients. It’s a true sci-fi adventure with high stakes, strong emotion, and a damn good story. What I really appreciated is that it never feels the need to dumb itself down to the audience, while still leaving room for jokes where they make sense.
The script is incredibly smart. Characters will drop lines that feel small or throwaway, but they’re said with a cadence that sticks with you. Later on, those same words come back in new, but different contexts. The payoffs smoothy sneak up on you later on. It’s subtle, confident storytelling that rewards your attention.
The movie looks visually incredible too. The set design and overall presentation are so convincing that you completely buy into it. Ryan Gosling feels like he’s actually out there in space. You totally forget you're watching a movie.
In the end, it’s one of those movies that sticks with you. It's the kind of movie you talk about for the whole drive home with your friends. It leaves you feeling something as you leave the theater.
Zendaya was cast in "Spider-Man" amid producers not having any idea who she was.
My gosh, I had no idea all these years that Kevin Feige & Co. had no idea who Zendaya was before they cast her in the Spiderman movie! 😳
She blew them away based on her talent ALONE! 👏🏾
A true Queen! 👑 😁👏🏾
