With all due respect, France’s monarch, Laurence Llewlyn-Bown lookalike King Louis, is a blithering nincompoop. How can he continue to trust the blatantly evil Comte de Rochefort? I’ve never clapped eyes on a more obvious villain For heaven’s sake, he’s even sporting a regulation pirate eye-patch now, the result of that rather messy stabbing business? What bigger hint does the dozy king need? A hook for a hand? Of course, our musketeer heroes are well aware of Rochefort’s true nature, but with this being the last episode in the current series, time is running out if they’re to save France from his murderous treachery. In the meantime, poor Constance looks as though she’s moments away from getting her beautiful head chopped off. No pressure, lads.
