There's no space outward The only way is upward Towards the heavens Towards the sky Towards the stars
this art piece I created title " amongst the skies " is an inspired sculpture piece. it was created within the frames of the assignment in the class titled anarchitect. the reason for this image was due to the previous assignment where we researched the artist Matta-Clark. since his art pieces involved subtracting portions from architectural structures like buildings, creating big holes within these building (which was amazing), and photographing them/having them on display. I wanted to create a structural piece that was of similar detail and yet the opposite. instead of subtracting circular pieces from and structure I intended to add circular pieces to an almost absent structure. though, Matta-Clark ideal included using the walls itself as the art piece rather than placing décor as a means of art. I wanted to draw the audience to my own understanding architectural ideals. I think that the environment i.e. nature itself, plays a huge part in the foundation of architectural development. recognizing the beauty of nature and how it is a décor to each structure is crucial. this piece is intended to be a bookshelf. if you look closely you can see the shelves below the clouds. I didn't add books because I didn't want to distract the viewers from the structure (also, could figure out what books to add to accompany the piece). I emphasized the stars, moon, clouds, and the sun as the theme of the piece. the appears is somewhat like a dream like appearance. giving off bed time story vibes in a sense.

His grouping of buildings gave the impression of being totally imbalanced and on the point of falling down...
