Here I present you, my first painting of Jacques from Finding nemo!!
I’m not sure if people will like it *blush*..but I’m so really happy with this painting, because I finally could be able to make a piece of fanart of him that looks like him!!! :D (I mean, a finished piece not just sketches like before ) It makes much good to my heart because I know there’s not much fanart of him, I’ve only have seen a couple of drawings of him and in the same pose of the finding nemo’s poster, and I think he deserves to have more varied and good fanart!
About the drawing, well, being a marine biology nerd I couldn't help trying to make a more anatomically accurate Jacques, with pereopods and pleopods... well lets call them walking and swimming legs in case you find difficult to remember the scientific names. See, shrimp have 3 or 4 pairs of walking legs depending of the species, and also have these little swimming legs that are shorter and in some cases transparent, like in this case of the pacific cleaner shrimp. I think Pixar did well with the walking legs, so I just tried to place them in the good place and add the swimeteers to conserve Pixar’s original desing ..Oh and also something else, observe well and tell me if you can guess! ;) The telson it’s not visible here because of the pose, it's the pointy thing in the tail that hurts your finger when you clean them to cook them XD
For the fans of him if there's at least one out there other than me. I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed drawing it! It was so much fun to draw! I tried my best to give him texture like in the original 3d design. And why he’s being shy?..because he probably is going to talk to a very cute and nice female shrimp? Heheh! I don’t know, I just feel it’s cute drawing embarassed characters, it’s one thing that we don’t see very often in Jacques, but I can imagine him like this and being still on character, so I felt like it was going to be refreshing and more interesting like this than drawing him on the same poster pose :)
And about Jacques, well, I love him because he's friendly, loyal, he likes to be clean, and also, he's one of those characters who is french and proud of being french and talking in french. You know, if it were for him he would only talk french and no english XD I think that's cool and funny at the same time! And yes, I have a soft spot for decapods, specially french talking ones
