CHICAAAA!! I found that Pinterest post with Chris wearing Donita’s draco lizard outfit 🤩
AY QUE BONITO- Gracias por traer el pan a la mesa hermana 👌🩷👌🩷✨️✨️
To this day, I cry that it wasn't more common for Donita to wear them as models. COME ON, WOMAN, WHAT WOULD IT HAVE HARD TO USE CHRIS TOO? Also; Now I understand why he looked so different from Martin in that suit. There are slight changes in the way the sleeves fall and, definitely, the pants. But more importantly, the differences in their body types make the design feel more right on one than the other.
That brings me to a topic I've wanted to talk about for a long time: a Kratt's design analysis.
There are some very subtle differences between their physiques. Both maintain an athletic build, with an inverted triangle figure, which is quite logical considering their regular physical activity. Both swimming and climbing work the back, arms, and shoulders, but of course, the amount of muscle mass developed also depends on other characteristics of the individual. Beyond this similarity, there are important differences.
Aside from the obvious height difference, Martin is more muscular, with arms, legs, waist, and even neck that are larger than Chris's. His chest is also much larger, which is reflected in him having the largest power suit on the team. Finally, he has a longer torso, which makes his waistline drop much lower.
Chris is thinner and more "slender," yet both maintain an athletic build, which is evident when compared to other thin men on the show like Zach or Jimmy. His musculature, though defined, has less body mass, which is quite advantageous for a climber who must support his entire weight. Another important characteristic is that he has a less extensive torso but proportionally longer legs than his brother, which places his waistline much higher.
These differences can be noticed by observing the models several times, but what stands out is why they are sometimes not so obvious: the clothing. The shorts that cover half their legs, the rolled-up jackets that cover half their arms, and even the gloves of the power suits—all these components partially conceal these peculiarities. The fact that the garments are layered also makes it difficult to correctly define the anatomy at a glance. Furthermore, the fact that these garments (except for the waistline) fall at the same height makes them look even more similar.
A similar technique is used in the making of can-can costumes so that everyone looks the same; the costumes are custom-made to give the impression that the dancers have the same proportions. This is also why swinsuits are perfect for noticing the differences between the two and characterizing them. 😂 I love making them different, in case it wasn't already obvious.
