If you want to watch rounded characters with realistically painful dialogues you should watch writer Noh Hee Kyung's dramas. She knows how to write great characters with proper development and do not just abandon their arcs at some point only to create painful suffering caused by backwards development and plot devices to her characters. She's a great scriptwriter.

Many viewers these days seem to drop the word "realism" on other dramas that apparently destroy character integrity just to fit their motives, but Our Blues is a drama with a true touch of a realism and properly portrays layered emotions.

I see people asking why Meng Yao didn’t go to the Yunmeng Jiang since he was from Yunmeng- because the Jiang are the nice people in this universe. And I am like what logic!? Don’t you remember the entire painful subplot of Yanli’s betrothal to Jin Zixuan? Aka the person whose on birthday Meng Yao was kicked down the steps of Carp Tower.

First of all Madam Yu would be like this bastard came here to avenge himself on Yanli. Not on my watch.

Second of all for Meng Yao who is convinced the world is trying to kill him, he wouldn’t go to lick his wounds at the Jin’s in-laws.

I Am Once Again thinking about the X-Files season 4 episode 12 Leonard Betts

#the thing is i really just like it because of the writing #it's SO well written #like yes this is all meant to foreshadow but it's also one of the most memorable MOTW stories in my mind just for concept #and execution #like... it is simply so well done?? the whole plot is just so interesting and compelling #and the vibes are just so... almost light?? it almost feels like a regular romp #but there's a slight tension that becomes this MASSIVE tonal shift at the end #like in animated stuff when it's a bright happy scene with birds singing and cheerful music and suddenly everything is darker #and the music comes to a screeching halt like a bunch of offkey piano notes #that's what the total shift of LB feels like and I'm SO here for it #it's such a normal episode until it's NOT until the whole thing screeches to a halt and you Realize.#and the way that's pulled off is MASTERFUL i will never be over how well-written the episode is #i haven't even started my cancer arc rewatch yet but I'm thinking about this tonight shdjdjdksnwj #Lu rambles #txf #the x files #txf s4 #cancer arc my beloved
