I think Surmi the jester being a mascot inspired by and created in starlight's image will possibly be something that will be brought up at some point in the galactic defense force series, and will either be an important character thing for Surmi or will just be something that's mentioned a few times.

Since why have the government guy in the reprise video bring it up if it isn't important or something to keep in mind. It's either that or just a fun way of further connecting the two series.

Just a fun little theory.

hello will…i truly really love your gifs in your blog and as a someone who wanted to start create gifs, how do you create the gifs? like, do you also use ps just like other gif creators here? or do you have any specific tutorial on how do you create gifs?

so i taught myself how to use photoshop to make gifs like a decade ago, didn't make very many back then at all, and then stopped doing it until getting into f1. as a result the process i have for photoshop is probably not optimal or current. it takes a long time, and the results are not THAT much better than the other way i do it, so i only do that if i have free time and a video i really care about making look good. there are tutorials out there, i don't have any links for them, sorry!

most of the time i use my phone to make gifs! almost all gifs i post are made using an app (ImgPlay). it takes a little bit of time learning how to use all the features of the app, but you can make really pretty gifs that way. it's super easy and fast to do things like cropping, sharpening and adjusting contrast, and adding filters. i don't want to shill for ImgPlay, as I'm sure there are other good apps out there, but i've made thousands of gifs with it, and it does everything i want it to.

if you want more detailed process: you can screen record the video you want to gif or download it from instagram using a browser extension and airdrop it (that's what i do most of the time). i usually select 20fps or 24fps (there's a tradeoff of filesize vs. smoothness, more frames = bigger file, most of the time 20fps is perfectly fine and looks smooth, but sometimes 24fps is better, play around and figure out what's right for each moment). if necessary i then remove frames that have flashes in them (hurt my eyes), and set the speed between frames to be like .08 (sometimes slower, rarely faster), and then crop (a square gif can have approx 40 frames and a 16x9 can have up to 70 frames to be the same size file, so trade-off there).

then i sharpen and filter the gif to make it pretty, before i save each gif using the 'resize' function before i move to another part of the video to gif (it saves the adjustment settings so you don't have to change anything over again, which makes it really efficient). i aim to have a file size per gif around 6mb to 7mb (you can post up to 10mb on tumbir but they load kinda slow and i don't like that). the standard width of a tumblr post i think is 540 pixels, so that's what looks best for a gif without being stretched or compressed, even if a lot of the time i do compress them by putting them next to each other Imfao that's just a sweet spot to compromise between quality and file size.

never look to me as a scholar. i came from a minecraft background where the text was okay but the authors Hated us tumblrinas (for asking things like 'can you fire that sex pest' mostly) and we hated them back so we tore the original content up and made fun collages

Pony Town Stuff!

I've decided to return and finally do stuff. I have created OCs as well, but right now, I'll just post pictures of the characters that are like canon to the show, starting with Rarity, who is more stylish than the usual girls I've made. I plan to make others like Lyra and others as well. Maybe more OCs. I don't know yet.
