Every time I see someone hating on a les mis character who isn't Tholomyes or the Thernardiers I wanna like, talk about how the characters are all super three dimensional, even the ones with no first names, and even though no one ever has to read the brick there's a lot of info just from the fandom talking or checking out a wiki page that elaborates on the vague interpretation you'll get from he movie or musical, like I dunno man these are all really interesting characters and i get not everyone is into it enough to do research or whatever but I just think before you're willing to start discourse or whatever you should understand as much as possible

#like patron minette are criminals #they kill people #they are murderers #but they're still miserable ones and their characters are interesting #les amis don't have first names and die almost immediately after you meet them #but they're still somehow fleshed out just enough most of us write about them Exclusively #Marius is an annoying lovebird and a bonapartist but he's More Than That #this isn't even an 'im excusing him for being problematic'#literally this is just what makes him the character he is #there's a lot to him #as well as Cosette #and javert #and everyone else #for real the only characters I get hating are the Thernardiers and tholomyes #because they're just bad
