they created a villain who targets you when you’re at the worst place in your life. and then they made all of their characters at the worst place in their lives. and then the villain didn’t target them.

Stranger Things Quote of The Day- Season 2 Episode 6: The Spy
"I know... I can be a jerk like him sometimes, and I do not want to be like him. Ever. I guess... I'm angry too, and... I'm sorry."
-Max Mayfield, 1984
I love this scene. It's when lumax really started to blossom. And Max talking about her family situation and how she doesn't want to be like Billy is so sad. Seeing Lucas cheer her up was adorable. Rewatching season 2 is reminding me how much I hate Billy. He made Max feel so awful about herself and even guilty, and he continued making her feel guilty after he died. Like he's such a pos. He will never be redeemed to me.
But yeah this was a really sweet scene. I'm also glad after this Max finally believed them about the demogorgon lol. From then on she didn't have to be excluded and unaware of what the party was doing.
We're never getting Byron in PoMas, are we?
guys all the st kids are cringefail losers , theyre nerds . thats the point .

Exactly what i was thinkin when i sent that!! Thank u. People villify ethan and mia but.... excuse miranda, the lords and daughters??? Like... cmon
RIGHT?? (Keep in mind, by the way, that when I say this stuff, I'm speaking from a canonical stand point. Before I get called hypocritical or something.)
And like, I'm not a huge fan of Ethan in general (I just find him blah), but he literally did nothing wrong. In either of these games. He tried to get his daughter back, and he did what he had to do. And I feel like, if I was in his position, I would probably do the same shit.
And this is coming from someone who simps HARD for Alcina and her daughters. I love them. I would let them kill me and use my blood for wine. But, for canon purposes, I have come to completely understand why Ethan does what he did. (I personally still think he didn't have to taunt Moreau. Idk what that was about. Guess he was being petty or something.)
The Lord have their own issues. They're 100% evil villains, but they're also victims. It doesn't excuse their behaviour at all, but lets not forget none of them had a choice in becoming Lords. Alcina was lured by Miranda, the daughters were more than likely forced to undergo their experiments, Donna was adopted by Miranda and probably had no choice in being injected, I'm not sure about Moreau, but Heisenberg was kidnapped as a child and injected with the Cadou. But they are in no way innocent, either. They've all murdered and Alcina and Karl both experimented on people. Canonically speaking, they didn't choose this life style persay, but they also aren't just innocent because they were forced into something.
And my GOD don't get me started on Miranda because this bitch. This BITCH. I understand her whole thing is not being able to accept the loss of her daughter, and yes loss is very hard, especially when it's your child, but it's been over 100 years. She's preformed countless experiments on Villagers, she turned them into monster, she forced the Lords into their positions, and she also worked with The Connections!
People wanna talk about Mia being awful for working for them, but what about Miranda, who's the whole reason Eveline existed? Who actively participated in experimenting on a child. Who then kidnaps someone else's BABY and then CUTS HER INTO PIECES. She committed genocide against an entire fucking Village, and had Ethan kill her own "false children", because she saw them as useless to her.
Like at least the Lords I kind of see as being like having a little humanity, I guess? Like, Alcina, I'm sure she loves and cares for her daughters, and I'm sure Donna just wants to be with her dolls, and Moreau had his romcoms and cheese, and at least Heisenberg understands Miranda is a psycho bitch. They can all have a somewhat human side to them. (Again, doesn't make anything they do right)
But Miranda is just... pure obsession and cruelty, and I cannot trust a person who would excuse that but then paint Mia and Ethan as like villains.
Again, TLDR: Painting Mia and Ethan as villains but excusing Miranda and the Lords as all innocent is just not it.
