Obi-Wan has a pounding skull when he wakes up. His head feels heavy, his arms feel heavy, his chest feels heavy. Like there’s leaden weights on top of him--

Oh, wait.

There is something on his chest.

Someone, actually. Two someones.

His head is still pounding, but he relaxes a little as he cracks his eyes open and recognizes the two weights on his chest.

Those two...

He smiles fondly, gently working his arms free from underneath his sleeping friends, wrapping an arm around each of them. He’s not entirely sure how he ended up here, or why his head hurts so much... but he’s with people he cares about, so he must be safe now.

Once he’s had his fill of admiring their gentle, peaceful faces in sleep, he lets his eyes drift away, taking in his surroundings.

As he starts to recognize them, he stiffens up, heart pounding fearfully. They’re in the medbay-- in the Temple. What is Padme even doing here? Why would they get into a bed with him? Not that he’s exactly complaining, but-- What possessed them to do this where anyone can see?

If anyone catches sight of this, they’ll draw the wrong conclusions. He and Anakin will be expelled for sure, he needs to get them up, get them off--

Sensing his panic, Anakin wakes, grumbling softly. “Mmph, Master...”

“Anakin,” the elder Jedi hisses, tone filled with worry. “What are you doing, we could be seen.”

“I know, ‘s okay.” The knight lifts his head, an unhappy sound leaving his throat as Obi-Wan’s hand removes itself from his back. “You fell, under the ice. Safest way to warm you up was body heat. We volunteered.”

Oh. Well, that explains his pounding head, the searing ache, and the tingling in his limbs. “I see.” He doesn’t remember it, but he knows they were headed for Pantora’s moon, so the ice checks out.

“It’s really good to see you awake,” Anakin says, tone softening. “You had us both really worried.”

Obi-Wan lifts his head a little, wincing at the pins-and-needles feeling in his shoulders. “... I would say it’s good to be awake, but frankly? This is awful.” He gives up on that, dropping back down. “Exactly how long was I out? I don’t even remember landing on Pantora.”

Anakin’s concerned expression grows. “Well... we didn’t land, exactly. We crashed.”

“On a diplomatic mission?”

Padme is awake now too, and she announces herself by joining into the conversation then, and consequently making Obi-Wan jerk a little in surprise. “We didn’t quite get to the diplomacy part.”

“The damn seps were waiting for us.” Anakin explains, jaw tight. “They were holding the parliament hostage, the Pantoran leaders were forced to request us. It was a trap.”

Obi-Wan nods, trying to remember, but it’s like grasping at water. “... Last I recall, we hadn’t even dropped out of hyperspace. What happened?”

“You really don’t remember anything?” Anakin asks, sounding put out.

Padme’s tone is soft and soothing. “Ani, he was under the water a long time, memory loss was expected.”

“I know, but--” Anakin’s voice is strained. “Master, exactly how much do you remember?”

“Is there something I should remember?” Obi-Wan asks, a bit lost. His last memory isn’t anything remarkable, just some idle chatting between the three of them as they travelled along the hyperlane. “You didn’t answer me, how long was I asleep? How long was I underwater?”

Anakin looks crushed, and Obi-Wan can’t begin to imagine why.

Padme doesn’t look much happier, but she has the composure to answer. “You’ve been out for a few days. The healers thought you’d be in a coma for at least a few more weeks, actually. You were under the ice for almost ten minutes.” She sits up a little to look at him, not hiding her concern. “I thought-- but, Anakin didn’t give up.”

He can feel his Padawan taking ahold of his arm and gripping him tight, as if he’s worried he’ll slip away again. The pressure makes his muscles ache, but he doesn’t dare try to pull away. He can sense how much Anakin needs it.

“I suppose I owe you one, Anakin,” Obi-Wan states, trying to keep his focus on them both.

“You owe me more than one, old man.” Anakin points out, but he sounds oddly subdued. “I think you’re at 5. 6, counting Cato Nemoidia.”

“We’re not counting that,” the elder Jedi responds easily, frowning. Something isn’t quite right here. “I feel as if I’m missing an important detail. What else happened?”

Rather than answering him, Padme and Anakin share a look.

He can’t quite decipher it... Anakin seems unsure, while Padme seems to be challenging him. Again, he gets the sense that there’s really something important that he’s missing. He’s too tired to figure out what it could be, and his memories aren’t being forthcoming with any hints.

It seems that Anakin wins out, frowning as he looks away from Padme. “Nothing. We crashed, ejected, and your pod went through the ice layer. I got you out and breathing again. Senator Amidala kept an eye on you while I went and liberated the Pantoran Parliament. So, you know. Just like any other mission gone sideways.”

Before Obi-Wan can get out a response or another question, Padme huffs her frustration, shooting a quick look towards the door. “Actually, Master Kenobi,” she starts, shooting Anakin a quelling glare before she looks back over at the other Jedi, eyes soft. “I have something I hope might jog your memory.”

He’s about to ask her to clarify, when she... well. does.

Obi-Wan doesn’t have time to react before he’s being kissed, his eyes going wide as Padme Amidala’s lips press against his own.

He freezes up in shock, about to push her away and demand to know what she’s thinking... only...

This isn’t the first time they’ve kissed, is it?

His vision fades momentarily as a memory takes over, recalling the last time he had the Senator so close to him. And that’s not all, she wasn’t the only one to kiss him.

Obi-Wan snaps out of it as Padme pulls away, his heart beating far too quickly in his chest.

“Oh,” he states intelligently.

Padme is smiling patiently at him. “Remember now?”

He does. That trip through hyperspace wasn’t all idle chat. He remembers flashes-- his own growing frustration with their continued charade, despite his many attempts to hint that he knows. An argument, a kiss, a confession. Several confessions. A few more kisses.

And then the rude awakening as they dropped out of hyperspace, directly into an ambush.

It’s all fuzzy still, but he remembers.

“The important parts, I think,” he responds, looking between them both with a mixture of apprehension and interest. After a second, a rakish sort of smile makes its way to his face. “Though, my memory could do with more refreshing.”

Anakin doesn’t need to be told twice. He can barely contain himself, really.

Not that Obi-Wan minds; he isn’t even sure he’s not dreaming. And if this is a dream... it’s not one he’s particularly interested in waking up from.

“I love you,” Anakin says breathlessly when he decides to let Obi-Wan breathe again. “Both of you, so much.”

Obi-Wan and Padme trade a warm, happy look before answering at the same time.

“We know.”

Work has been particularly difficult lately. Coworkers seem to not know what they’re doing, and your boss has taken it upon themselves to make you their human punching bag. That’s why the second it hit 5pm on Friday, you basically sprinted home to get ready for a night out. You didn’t have a solid plan, but you knew you wanted to get fucked up.

That’s how you found yourself at The Nest, an oddly nice bar tucked inside an alley. Walking to the bar, you notice that there aren’t as many people as you’d expect there to be. Aside from you, the bar is occupied by a group of individuals that look like they just left their shift at the nearest bank, a polished young couple, and two men sitting at the bar a couple seats away from you. The men were basically carbon copies of each other, with matching dark clothes, and… crow masks?

Whatever, I’m not going to yuck somebody else’s yum.

You signal for the bartender and order your favorite drink. As you take a sip you can’t help but feel as if you’re being watched. You quickly scan your surroundings, shrugging when you see that everybody is occupied by their own company.

You're a couple drinks in when you notice how late it is. The Nest has mainly cleared, and you take it as your sign to go. Paying your tab, you stand out of your seat and head towards the door. It’s cool outside, causing goosebumps to appear on your arms. You start your walk back home when you feel somebody grip your arm.

“Hey, what the fuck-” you start to exclaim before another hand covers your mouth.

You attempt to shake the hands off you, but their grip remains firm, almost unmoving. Limbs flailing, you finally manage to hit something.

“Ow, fuck!” Behind you, a man grunts. Moving his hand from his arm to your waist, he lifts you up, carrying you towards a black van.

A second voice appears. “Dude, be careful, boss is going to actually execute us if she gets hurt, like, at all.”

Your eyes move frantically, landing on the owner of the second voice. Those fucking crow guys! Crow #2 opens the back of the van while Crow #1 carries you inside.

You feel a hand on your neck, near your carotid. “Don’t worry, y/n. You’ll give in eventually.”

There’s pressure on your neck, and then everything goes black.

You wake up in a large, dark room. Your crow ‘buddies’ aren’t around at all, and you don’t seem to be bound to anything. Sitting up, you take in your surroundings. The windows are high up on the walls and there’s very little furniture, making it near impossible to climb out. Opulent artwork covers the walls. This is obviously the home of someone with money. You’re too busy taking in the room that you don’t notice the cool, shadowy tendrils that wrap around your wrists, your ankles, and your waist until they’re dragging you backwards. They don’t stop until you’re kneeling in front of a large leather chair that you didn’t notice before. Occupying the chair is a tall, silver-haired man. He leans toward you, a look of mock pity on his face.

“Oh, sweetie, you have to stop struggling like this.” His voice is deep, smooth, and even sounds rich.

“Who the fuck are you? Why am I here?” You try to hide the fear in your voice.

“I’m Sylus, your new master. As for you…” He reaches out a hand, fingers trailing over your cheekbone. “I’ve had my eye on you for quite some time now. It’s about time I finally get my chance to bring you home to me.”

“Home?! You’re crazy!” Your head jerks back, trying to get as much distance between the two of you as possible.

“Hm… Luke and Kiernan said you were feisty.”

Whatever bound your wrists and ankles suddenly yanked you up and onto Sylus’s lap, straddling him. You continue to struggle, trying to yank your hands free from whatever this restraint is.

“Just let me leave.” You say, voice trembling.

Sylus coos. “You and I both know that’s not going to happen, kitten. I’ve had eyes on you for so long, I’ve had my Mephisto trail you all day, every day, I’m not going to let go of you now. You’re too… precious to me.”

Sylus proves his point by rolling his hips, his now hard cock brushing deliciously against your clit, even despite the layers of clothing. A shockwave travels through your body, and you let out a quiet whimper. You can’t believe your body is betraying you after you literally just got kidnapped. Sylus raises his eyebrows, noticing your reaction.

PtN SFW Headcanons Part 3: Che

Hello all, we are here for the third installment of this mess of a fic, this one featuring a Sinner recommended to us by EinarKaslana Ao3, who also gave us the idea of who the next Sinner to be featured here will be, that said, the Sinner we are focusing on today is the enigmatic axe and knife wielder of Whitestone Industries, KK’s second pain in the neck, and a Sinner whose past is mired in mystery and enigma-

Che

1. He owns multiple sleeping bags of varying size and quality, several of which seem to be either hand made by a third party or by Che himself, though he will only smirk when asked which of the two options it is. 

2. He has formed an unlikely friendship with Corso and Wolverine over their shared disdain for animal abusers, when they go out to hunt one down or to bust a fighting ring, he seems to come alive and display a truly remarkable amount of vigor as opposed to his normal demeanor. 

3. He can use guns, and is actually quite adept with pistols, he simply prefers his blades due to sentimental reasons. 

4. He has mastered the art of sleeping in uncomfortable positions and situations, from being able to sleep while standing up, to being able to sleep while having several bullet and blade wounds from mania weapons. 

Granted, the last time he fell asleep while injured he almost gave KK and Bai Yi heart attacks as they believed he was dead due to his lack of a response, only for him to wake up when they mentioned getting Anne to take a look at him. 

5. He has an instinctive fear of doctors, or rather any form of medical professional, while he may have some degree of trust in Anne and Iron, due to Bai Yi and KK vouching for them and for them having saved his life several times while the trio was in Syndicate and since joining the prison, he still prefers to not seek them out unless it is a matter of life and death. 

6. He is ambidextrous, and uses this to subtly mess with people by making them think one hand is his dominant, only to use the opposite hand for something the next day or such. 

7. He once asked the Chief if he could be put in a padded cell, his logic was that all he would need was a blanket and he could use the cell itself as his bed. That the chief had begun to laugh as KK lectured him as she told him that it was not an option and that it was not how padded cells work, only led to him sighing and instead asking the Chief for a more comfortable bed. 

The Chief granted the request after she had finished laughing to herself. 

8. Caffeine and sugar do not wake him up, on the contrary they make him even more tired, with Summer’s special blend of coffee having put him to sleep for nearly 2 days straight, something that led to the genius being berated by KK and Bai-Yi once they discovered her involvement.

9. He once painted his eyelids to look like his eyes and fell asleep, somehow he even managed to speak in his sleep and blink his ‘eyes’ in a convincing enough manner that no one figured it out till KK saw him, sighed, and walked over and smacked him on the head to wake him up.

10. The story of him gaining his driver’s license is a long and complicated one that involves the Chief pulling some strings for him to take a test to get one,, a wheel that popped off a few minutes into the test, several gangsters on motorcycles, and Bai Yi and KK trying to run interference before an RPG was launched at them and split them and Che up. 

In addition to a mall that needed a new entry door, escalators, several new store fronts, a fountain, several new columns, and a new exit door along with several damaged vehicles and cases of injuries. 

The tale ended with a battered and broken vehicle resting in a parking lot as the instructor hyperventilated into a paper bag as Che fought off a few gangsters before asking if he passed or failed the test.

He did indeed pass, perhaps out of the instructors fear of something similar happening if they were ever to be involved with Che again, or perhaps out of an exasperated Chief and a cackling Langley having had a conversation with them, to sway their mind. 

11. He is actually a surprisingly good cook when he wants to be, and has many times helped Kelvin and Ignis in the kitchen after KK ordered him to, though he has also been seen sneaking into the kitchen to make meals for the rest of Whitestone Industries. 

That he leaves a list of all that he has taken and used that night in making said meal has earned him no small amount of praise from the kitchen staff.

12. He hates riding motorcycles, he simply feels they are too unsafe despite the speed and maneuverability they offer, and as such prefers the relative security of a truck or of any other form of vehicle as opposed to Bai-Yi’s preferred ride. 

That he can also use the other vehicles as improvised weapons and battering rams for when the situation arises, and that he can recline back in the seat or lay down across the back seat and go to sleep is also a factor in his bias towards other vehicles. 

Of course, the fact that bai-Yi once launched him off of her motorcycle and into a pile of garbage does not help matters either. 

13. He pities the Chief, seeing their constant attempts at bettering the world as respectable, but at the same time ultimately futile given the scope of just what they are up against, though he cannot deny there is a part of him that wants to see the Chief succeed, and since KK and Bai-Yi are so fond of them he has decided to do what he can to help them…so long as it does not interfere in his nap time that is.

14. He suffers from chronic pains centered around his patch covered eye, the intensity of which varies from a dull ache to a piercing agony depending on the amount of Mania in the area around him, he has learned to fight through the pain when it comes to battles and day to day activities and will give little to no sign he is suffering aside from a slight clenching of his jaw. 

Bai-Yi and KK have learned to read him well enough to know when he needs to be forced to get some rest before the pain overwhelms him, with the Chief having learned about the matter due to their connection through the Shackles, with her having nearly been incapacitated by the pain before she was able to figure out who it was coming from.  

As a result, he now has a prescription for high dosage pain-killers that he stubbornly refuses to use unless the pain is to the point of nearly taking both him and the Chief down. 

15. He does not like wearing suits, at all. That said, he is able to pull off a surprisingly roguish look when he does wear one, to the point of having to flee and make up excuses to escape the number of men and women that try and get his number. 

There is actually a video of this happening that began to circulated around the Bureau after Che was asked to attend a part with the Chief as part of a mission, he has since been hounded by many of the guards and sinners alike to wear one again, with Garofano having even offered to tailor make him a suit, an offer he quite vocally refused.

That said, he does have one in reserve for any special mission that needs it, he just hopes ne never has to wear it again…or that he gets paid extra for wearing it if the need arises. 

16. He has managed to bond with Hella and Ninety-Nine over a shared hatred for a certain Umbrella Salesman, a nickname that has spread across the Bureau much to his amusement, and an equally intense hatred for mad scientists. 

17. Through means known but to himself, whatever God was watching at the time, and those involved, he once managed to smuggle several dozen dogs and cats into his cell with no one knowing. 

How they remained hidden from the security cameras and guards, no one has been able to figure out, with Nightingale having posted a reward for anyone that can help her to understand how apparently everyone in the bureau, including the cameras, were blind to the makeshift pound that had formed in Che’s cell. 

The animals were only discovered when Dudu, having recently purchased a new set of speakers, began to practice her Suona, with every single dog and cat in the cell beginning to howl at her in unison as they sung the songs of their people to try and get her to stop playing. 

Upon learning of this incident, the Chief and Nightingale went to investigate Che’s cell and, upon opening the door, were greeted by dozens of dogs and cats turning to look at them, including the sizable Saint Bernard that was laying on top of Che at the time.

The Chief was impressed, Nightingale was not.

The animals then decided they wanted to stretch their legs and promptly bolted with every Sinner and staff member that was available having to work together to hunt them down and corral them again. 

In the aftermath of the incident, due to an overwhelming number of complaints regarding the animals having to be sent to a shelter, and the weaponization of puppy dog pouts from the Triple C Alliance of the Children, the Chief, and Che, Nightingale consigned to the Bureau gaining a kennel that Che surprisingly dutifully helps tend to.

18. He is…less than fond of Shalom, having made it clear to the chief that he refuses to be put on any assignment with her, especially if she is assigned to the role of the team leader, a trait shared with Bai-Yi. 

Likewise, he once picked a fight with Rahu, the exact circumstances of which being unknown aside from footage showing them speaking for a few moments before Rahu attacked him as a response to some form of taunt or such that Che had said to her.

The fight ended with both of them needing treatment from Dr. Iron and Nurse Anne, as well as both having to spend time in differing isolation cells, with neither offering any form of explanation for the brawl aside from citing a ‘difference of opinions on certain matters.’

As to what opinions they differed on such that Che wound up flung into, and then through, a cell wall, with Rahu suffering a black eye as well, still remains unknown, though if the glare Che leveled at Shalom when they crossed paths afterwards is anything to go by…

19. During a test of each of the Sinners combat abilities, Che attempted to coast by with the bare minimum of effort, only for the Chief to persuade him to give the test his all by offering him several days of vacation if he reached a certain threshold in the test. 

Che promptly came to rank in the top 20 of those tested, only being beaten for a position in the top 10 due to an incident involving him sparring with Zoya and his axe damaging her shirt enough for the Chief, who was acting as the examiner, to see that Zoya was wearing a dark blue bra that day. 

Thankfully, Che survived and received his days of vacation once he was discharged from the ICU.

20. When someone continuously flirted with KK despite her desires for them to stop during a mission, he and Bai-Yi took it upon themselves to ensure the would be Cassanova had a night he would not forget.

From Bai-Yi pilfering their wallet before they could pay and then draining their account with it at an ATM across the street before returning it to them with her speed preventing them from noticing what had happened until it was too late.

To Che, who was pretending to be a waiter, lacing their food with laxatives that he had on him for some reason and sabotaging their car to insure that not only would it not start, but that even if it could they would need to find new tires, windshield wipers, and door handles.

And that was assuming they found a way to get the sugar and salt mixture out of their gas tank. 

21. He has a map of napping spots and hiding places across the Bureau proudly displayed in his room, with his reason for not hiding it being simply that there are too many places to search to find him unless the Chief really needs him.

That he has made a habit of carrying a smaller version of said map around the Bureau and selling similar small versions to other Sinners, is something that has driven Adjutant Nightingale mad many times over, especially when she found a copy on the Chief’s desk. 

22. He has a habit of training animals, and while this can be a good thing, his habit of teaching them things in the interest of helping himself out around the house has a tendency to backfire spectacularly. 

For example, he once attempted to train a Chihuahua that he had named Lucifer, given the way its fur seemed to shape into horns, to steal food for him from the kitchen, only for the process to end with the Chihuahua stealing most of the meat from the kitchen and keeping it for itself in a den it had made in the ventilation system, with Corso, Wolverine, and Pippy having to be called in to assist in retrieving the meat from the ferocious beast guarding it. 

In the end, there was no meat left for the cafeteria that day and Che was somehow outed as the one responsible, more than likely by a particularly vengeful Chief who now had to re-order an entire stock of meat for the kitchen, thus leading to him having to contend with several irate Sinners that had been looking forward to the meal that was on the list that day, thankfully he managed to avoid a stay in the hospital wing, albeit by virtue of bolting and hiding until the next day when Bai-Yi informed him of what was heading his way.  

In a similar vein he once attempted to teach a cat called Blank, after the blank look it would give everyone around it, to retrieve money and shiny objects for him, with the process ending when he realized the cat had brought back underwear belonging to Adjutant Nightingale, Nurse Anne, Countess Chelsea, and Cabernet. 

Upon leaving the ICU he decided to cease his attempts at teaching animals to help him…for now.

23. His room is rather cozy in its design, despite not being padded like he wished it to be, with plenty of plush furniture in deep colors that he put together himself filling it, several bookshelves and a small tv resting on a night stand at the foot of his bed.

The only downside to his cell turned room is that it is near to Dudu’s cell, down the hall to be exact, and as such he has many times been awoken from his naps by the sound of her Suona blaring, his own attempts at soundproofing having done little to combat her playing.

He has likewise vowed to either fully soundproof his room, or to destroy each and every Suona in Dis, come hell or high water one of those will be done…or maybe both.

24. While he does not trust, or even necessarily like Langley, he is willing to work with her if it ends up making life difficult for Parma, or if it is for the purpose of protecting the Chief and the Bureau. 

They may not like one another, but they hate the Umbrella Salesman and those that go after the Chief more. 

25. Once upon a time he managed to get locked in a zoo in East Side, the exact reason has been lost to time but is said to have involved himself, a locker, a blanket, a pillow, and a near 2 day long assignment that was finally done, and a moment where he could slip away from everyone and nap. 

By the time it was made apparent that he was missing, Che had somehow managed to slip into multiple enclosures and somehow, by means known to no one but himself and the animals involved, he managed to seemingly tame each of the animals he encountered, leading to him being found in the center of the zoo with an assortment of animals gathered around him as he napped. 

The Chief was torn between being impressed he had managed to somehow tame even the beasts dredged up from the depths of WhiteSands, such as a rather sizable giant scorpion, and exasperated as she had to argue with the zoo over if they could employ Che to work for them due to the Zoo manager being impressed with his ability to get the animals to do what he wanted. 

In the end it was decided that Che would be free to offer up his services to the Zoo for a commission fee, and so long as he did not bring any of the beasts back to the Bureau, the chief would not interfere and would keep it logged as a special dispatch mission for him and whoever else felt like going with him. 

26. He often call KK and Bai-Yi his sisters when doing describing them to others, though he has yet to call them such to their faces, whether or not they know of how he seems to view them is unknown, though if the way they often refer to him as their brother is anything to go by, then it is likely they are fully aware of it.

~Y/n pov~

I woke up with a silent gasp, letting my eyes focus. I was warm, and was somewhere soft. It was night, I was in bed with John. It happened, it really did happen! My head was resting on his chest—my leg rested over his, I closed my eyes to fall back asleep, but something kept me up. We weren't alone.

It was still dark out, probably close to two AM. Slowly, getting up from the bed, I found my shirt and undergarments before stepping out of the room. I walked down the steps, so quietly, not even the greatest listeners could hear me—I stepped near the large windows, I saw my eyes and face, it felt off—til I finally realized who was hiding behind my reflection.

A gasp flew out of me and I jumped back when the glass had shattered, I caught a blade that was aimed at my face. I threw it back and managed to hit the black cloaked intruder in the shoulder.

"Great aim, sister." The cold voice whispered, I glanced at the two shadows who walked out of the halls and the broken window; I simply stood there and clenched my fists, ready for a fight. I counted three in total, one female and two males. "Did you think you could escape us? Father expects your arrival by our hands." Takeda said.

His voice was cold and coated with bloodlust, he was my elder brother. Always known for bringing back the head of his victims back to the Grandmaster. "No, I know I can by killing you." I answered. His nose and mouth were covered by the black hooded mask, he reached behind him and grabbed the hilt of his katana.

"I think it's time for a rematch, little sister." He growled, I listened to the two surrounding me from behind. My mind flew back to John upstairs, I had to hurry and get to him before they realize. "You seem worried. . . I can hear your heart pounding louder, sister." Katora purred while holding a series of shurikens in her hands.

I stood in my fighting stance, watching Takeda mainly, he was the bigger threat compared to the two others. He's more experienced, he knows the costs of losing and bringing back nothing to the Master.

"Took you long enough." I growled, he threw the first punch and I dodged it. Grabbing a dagger from his side and half turning to stab it into Katora's inner elbow.

I have to aim for the vital parts in their bodies, I heard their blades being unsheathed—I kicked Masoa and punched Takeda in the throat before Katora kicked my back; the dogs started to bark before Bones leapt and attacked Masoa. I managed to grab Katora and place her in a headlock—I manged to snap her neck swiftly before dodging a kunai that sliced across my left cheek.

Bones leapt and attacked Takeda, distracting him enough for me to swiftly eliminate Masoa by his own katana. His throat slit as his blood drowning him as I turned my attention to Takeda who threw Bones across the room. I kicked his stomach and elbowed his jaw, I hissed when his blade pierced right below my ribs.

He push kicked me against the wall and grabbed my throat—I fought back and shoved my thumb into his left eye, adding force behind it as he snarled through his teeth. A gunshot went off and Takeda ducked, but the bullet grazed his neck. I fell to my knees but grabbed the kunai next to my hand.

Takeda snapped his attention to John who looked at me, I leapt and shoved Takeda off his track towards John and managed to slice his right cheek with the sharp tip of the kunai, he growled before running and disappearing into the shadows outside.

Leaving us. "Y/n!" He said as he ran to my side, "You're bleeding." I shook my head as I held my side. "I'm okay-" I heard the whimpering mewls coming from the side of the room—where Bones was lying.

I ran to her side, ignoring the pain in my body as I knelt and looked down at her panting body. Her mouth open as she hyperventilated, it was then that I saw her bleeding chest and stomach. "No. . . No, Bones." I whispered as I cradled her head, she whined in pain as I held her. John knelt beside me as I fought the tears.

"Bones. . ." I muttered to her, she was my friend. My very own support animal, she was a gift from him. I clutched the kunai in my hand before bringing it to her pulse, I shuddered when she made a small yelp before silence took over.

". . . She wasn't going to make it. . ." I whispered—removing the blade from her flesh. I dropped the weapon and rested my head on hers, "She was a gift from him. . . My sign of his existence before he was taken from me." I breathed out.

"Who, Y/n?" John's soft voice asked me, his hand resting on my left shoulder. "Yasu. . ." I muttered.

Yasu was a gentle soul, one that didn't belong in a clan such as this one. Grandmaster found him abandoned in a storm, took him in and trained him. His hair was as dark as night, his smile as kind as a flower, and his body sculpted by the discipline of the rules.

He was strong-willed, he broke rules at times. But he'd do it just to help me. I remembered being trained privately by our Grandmaster, every time I made a single sound—the bottom of my feet would be slashed by a bamboo rod. I left the dojo with thirty-eight slashes on both of my feet.

A punishment, reminders of what'll happen if I wasn't silent. I'd wake up to him soothing my pain with aloe vera; Yasu had a bright smile, the smile that would cause mine to show. But that bright smile was carrying the need for a better place, a better life.

That's the one thing Yasu has ever dreamed of, his own freedom. He told me that he wanted to escape, run away from this life and start anew. But he turned to me and confessed his love to me, he said his life was me.

Wherever I was, was his home, his heart, his spirit. We were simply eighteen years old, but he seemed more infatuated with the outside world we rarely ever witnessed. On one raining night, he had snuck out of his room. He woke me up and led me outside into the rain.

He had begun to climb the walls surrounding our land. He knew I was afraid of leaving the Grandmother, for I knew what he could do to us if we disappeared—he'd always find us. We were a part of him, as he is us. This was the way of the Crimson Clan.

He told me home would always follow close behind.

Yasu kissed my lips and said that he would always be waiting on my arrival to him. He dreams of starting a life with me, one with joy, freedom, and our own family. One that didn't shed blood for riches or power, just for love. And with that. . . He disappeared.

But not for long. . . Barely one day had passed before he was dragged back, tied to a post outside and shamed by the Grandmaster. He was whipped and tortured in front of us all, I couldn't move, I couldn't react.

I could only stand there, watching as my love was beaten right in front of me. I couldn't feel anything but pain. It was then when Takeda was honored with ending Yasu's life. Which he did with the Grandmaster's katana—piercing his heart and ending him.

They eventually dragged me to the front, kicked me down and I was punished in front of everyone. I was beaten to a pulp, given the order to not defend myself as my Master beat me with his fists and kicks, using the same bamboo rod to leave marks on my body. Even carving the symbol of the Clan into my lower back as I laid there in pain.

I knew I was forever one of them. . . But when I escaped, Yasu seemed to have known that I'd leave sooner or later. A strange woman came to me after I escaped and she left me a box with a letter. I read it and it was from him, he said he was going to be caught soon.

He wasn't as agile as I was, he admitted he accepted his fate but didn't want me to be suffering after his lost. So he left me Bones, she was the last memory and gift I've ever gotten from him. My chance to grieve and move on. . .

Until now.

~3rd pov~

John helped bury Bones in the backyard, where Daisy remained. John could feel the vengeance emitting off of Y/n, she stood from the grave and stormed back into his home. Bubba lied in his bed as he watched his owner follow after Y/n.

She approached the kitchen and pulled up a piece of the wall near the ground, sliding out a large thin box and a hidden drawer filled with shurikens. She grabbed another box behind the dryer and opened it, revealing a green and black outfit.

She lifted the top of the thin box and revealed a katana, shined and sharp to the touch. The hilt wrapped and designed with green snakes, "I'm going to end my Clan. . . I'll take the life of my Grandmaster, once he is dead—only then will I be free." Y/n said as John watched her pull out a sharp knife with a chain attached to the bottom of the hilt.

"Y/n, I'm not letting you do this alone. I know what it feels like to lose someone." He told her, placing his hand on top her own. "I can't let you get killed over my suicide mission, John." She whispered.

"You underestimate me." He said. "These are not normal people, John. They're bred to kill." She warned him. "As I was." He replied. ". . . I'm doing this so they'll leave us alone, I don't want you to get hurt."

John held her face and turned her to look at him, "And I'm going to protect you, too. I care about you, and I'm not letting you do this alone." He pulled her closer and kissed her. Y/n mewled against his lips as John felt her tears running down her face, he kissed them away as she held onto his shirt.

"I'm so sorry for bringing you into this." She whispered. "Don't be. I'm used to it." He replied, "Let's go and handle it together. I'll show you how to use a gun." She sighed against his lips before kissing him again. "I learned by watching you, John. . . Thank you, for everything. . ." Her eyes still shut as she let a tear fall.

"Forgive me, Koibito." She whispered, letting her hand cup the side of his jaw and neck—John lost his breath as darkness took over his vision when she triggered his pressure point: The Vagus nerve.

Knocking him out cold.

John gasped as he woke up, he was lying in his bed with the sun shining through the window. He then looked to the side and didn't see Y/n lying there. He immediately got up and ran out of his room and downstairs.

She wasn't there, Bubba was behind John as he clenched his fist. She left him, knocked him out, no trace of her destination. He knew it was dangerous, he knew she was skilled in her own ways. . .

But he couldn't let her go and possibly be killed by her Clan. John clenched his jaws before turning and searching for his suit and his guns. John had a new target, and he was determined to get the job done.

"Let's go, Bubba." He said. He walked to the garage door, wearing his fresh suit and carrying his weapon as he walked into his garage. He opened the door to his vehicle and let Bubba jump inside. He got in and started the engine.

Cars were rushing past her, the wind blowing through her hair as she leapt onto the top of a semi-truck. Her eyes vigilant as her heart beated for vengeance. Master Uzunye would be prepared. He knew his daughter well, he's trained her with his mindset.

His breath sighed as he slowly stood, walking out of his temple above the tall mountain. Grinning as he listened to the howling wind, "Come home, my daughter."

The training assassins below him were shouting as they kicked and punched, sweat and blood coming from their bodies. Uzunye's one good eye watched the mountains, counting the seconds for his daughter to return back to him.

Her feet were carrying her through the roads and the grass and the trees. Her katana at the ready, her fists urging for a fight, her legs prepared to break the bones of her siblings.

She was given the name for a reason, and she was prepared to use it to protect John. She was created and trained to serve him, and this is how she'll repay half of the debt to John and Yasu.

For she was the Jade Viper.

Translator’s note: Okay so this CD was strange...? I think some of the VERSUS IV CDs did the game aspect perfectly but in this one, I didn’t feel that thrill as much. Which is a shame considering it’s the CD in which Kino - the game master - appears. Everything felt a bit disconnected rather than it making for one, nice story. The open ending isn’t my cup of tea either, but I suppose I can see the appeal for some people.

This is the best birthday gift ever.

Anyway, I’m not surprised that many of these need context. They’re last lines for a reason. If I see this list, I am actually quite happy. I hate writing endings, but these all seem all right. Most of them wrap the story up nicely. Most, I say, because the Zimbits Updates ones are all loose drabbles, so I didn’t feel the need to create a big ending for some of them.

The other thing I notice is that all of them are short, but that’s because I tend to end my fics with a couple of short sentence that could easily be one sentence (see The Naked Truth. If I had used a period (.) instead of “, and I start to draw”, then “I start to draw” fits right into this list.)

Well, this is fun.
