Album: Dichotomie
Louis-Charles Marsolais, known as ANDRRE, is a singer-songwriter from another planet, trying to understand human feelings.
In 2007, he appeared on a Japanese compilation by Hue Records entitled Once a hue always a hue. He was then invited to appear on European group Fumuj's Le robot et les crevettes chinoises, for a song entitled Full of entertainment. With the release of his album Learn to love in 2010, mainly produced by Pierre the Motionless and Zoën, and with valuable collaborations from Astronautalis, Nomad and Nolto, ANDRRE became a leading figure in the experimental hip-hop community. After appearing, alongside the talented Astrid Van Peeterseen, on French producer Degiheugi's 2012 new album Dancing chords and fireflies for a song entitled Know a woman, the trio strikes again on 2015 album Endless Smiles with a gem called The stranger .
After difficult times away from the recording studio, ANDRRE has come back strong with Dichotomie, a 5-song EP exploring the chaos of everyday life. The EP was entirely produced by Zoën, who quickly became an essential part of ANDRRE's work and inspirations through his rhythms and melodies. He then met and joined forces with Dora Dorovitch. Juggling hip-hop, pop and folk, the artist now demonstrates unprecedented musical versatility and a greater understanding of his own creative universe.
DICHOTOMIE is a five songs EP describing the complexity of a simple life. From suicide to paternity, introspection to the urgent need to scream the truth. It goes from one subject another but still very homogenous. It is also a come back to my first love: music because I needed to take a pause to learn how to be a father and try to be a good one.
