I read @ciaraocarrick 's headcanon about Will and Halt after Skandia and I just had to paint it because it was so perfect. This was a pretty quick paintjob so please forgive any mistakes you see :)

The Ranger Commandant

This was my first time experimenting with a whole painting in colors, and I tried looking at artists like Rembrandt and Titian to figure out how they lit their portraits. At the end of the day, I didn't create a very realistically lit piece, but I'm proud of how I kept trying new techniques! Don't get it twisted, that map is a royalty free png that I found, I did NOT paint that sucker o7

Day 17 - Speech

This scene is justice incarnate, I'm so glad his paper burned up and he didn't give that god awful thesaurus.com speech. I'm begging him to never pick up a pen again.

Day 6 - Lead

Honestly if King Duncan of Araluen asked me to go into battle I'd do it, he's just that kinda guy. But the weight of that crown must be heavy, he's just one man after all...

Day 30 - Home

Going back to the cabin in the trees,

Going back to the creek beneath the hill.

There's a girl who used to live there when I left,

But I doubt she'll be waiting for me still.

Never thought I'd be gone so many years.

When I left I always planned that I'd return

But time slips away before we know

That's just one more lesson that we learn.
