Discworld villains are not often people, they're usually just a group of rich old assholes (as with real life) or an arcane concept like Winter. But let me tell you I'm currently on my first re-read of The Truth and it's never hurt this bad to re-read a book before for the simple reason that although I guess the main characters are fine (?) I and wholeheartedly invested in the New Firm and knowing what eventually happens to them is pure agony.
