Therapist: And what do we say when we feel like this?
Me: Royai is canon
Therapist: No.
Me later: I swear, Mr. Policeman, I have no idea how Mrs. Therapist fell over the window

Orpheus and Eurydice
Ok so I was doing homework when a great royai theory popped into my head. We are studying a book that has at its base the greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
For those who are not familirized with the story, I am going to summarize it here but I won't go into details because I haven't studied it so closely myself either.
So Orpheus is in love with Eurydice but she dies, poisoned by a snake. He goes into the Underworld to bring her back and convinces Hades(the god of the Underworld) to allow him to do so. Hades has only one condition: Orpheus is not allowed to look at her face until they leave the Inferno. Unfortunately, when they have only one more step to escape, Orpheus looks at her to make sure that she was right behind him. So he loses her forever into the Underworld.
Noww, we're reaching the royai part.
Let's take a look at episode 54, Beyond the Inferno...omg even the title suggests my theory
So I think this episode it's based on the greek myth. In fact, their whole relationship might be. Riza as Orpheus and Roy as Eurydice.
So we know that Riza promises Roy to follow him into hell and to never let him deviate from his path. We see what happens when he does that in episode 54,right? Just like Orpheus, Riza is determined not to lose him and follows him into hell to pull him back onto the right path.
Another interesting detail is that she looks at Roy's face only after he apologizes. Is it a coincidence?
Also, Eurydice died poisoned right? Doesn't Roy look poisoned too in this episode? By anger, madness, frustration etc.
Riza knows that she's the only one who can save him from his own self so she is strong enough not to give in. Orpheus on the other side, looks at Eurydice and loses her. Also Hawkeye threatens to kill herslef after she would have killed him. Which is what Orpheus does after Eurydice is lost forever.
The title of the episode... Ha ha... Beyond the Inferno
The difference between the greek myth and episode 54 is that episode 54 has a happy ending. Riza follows Roy into hell and manages to bring him outside. So they walk together beyond the inferno. Interesting coincidence, right?
Idk guys, maybe it's only a coincidence but this greek myth totally screams royai. And we know that Riza would always follow Roy into hell to bring him back:)
This made me emotional. Take someone who would go through hell for you as many times as needed❤️
Tell me what you think!

Take me to church by Hozier
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
