Missing them hours.
despite everything, it’s still you
i'm reading an essay for school about the body and soul in ancient greek mythology and there's a really intresting part about how a hero's or god's weapons became a part of their bodies (zeus' lightrod/poseidon's trident/heracles' nemean lion skin) and thus fighting with someone else's armour and weapons almost became like being them (the example the essay used was hector fighting achilles wearing his old armour and achilles dooming himself to death by killing hector). with a moderate amount of mental gymnastics there's definetly something to be said in that perspective about luke fighting vader with his old lightsaber (esp considering how a lightsaber is a jedi's life) and vader cutting luke's hand holding it. from a certian point of view luke is not only his son then but by fighting with his weapon he somehow becomes him and vader cutting off his saber hand is just one more way to kill himself again. is this anything.
