A little reading from the other night. I have a habit of pulling cards after I've taken my ambien so I mostly don't remember what I even asked! The Racoon Dog (Tanuki) belongs to the canid family but is neither a racoon nor a dog. They’re the only canines that hibernate in the winter. They live in monogamous pairs and cluster in groups, knowing they’re stronger together. But most sadly, on fur farms all over China and Japan, they’re inhumanely bred and brutally slaughtered for their pelts, which are often sold as “faux fur” to unsuspecting consumers who believe they’re buying a cruelty-free product.😢😡 The 5 of Pentacles is typically interpreted as a card of transition and challenge in the areas of career, health, and finance. It’s all about doing what you’ve got to do to get from one state of being to another (hopefully better) one. You can't put your finger on it, because every time you try to catch it, it slips to the margins just outside your vision. And while for all practical purposes you can't really complain about your own achievements, you can't quite shake the instinct that you've overlooked something or, more to the point, someone. Maybe you know who this is but you've written them off because they weren't available when you thought you wanted them most. Don't count this person completely out. They still have something to teach you even if they are absent. Like Prince said, "I'd rather give people what they need rather than just what they want." The reason you can't put your finger on it is because you think you alone can provide everything you desire. Not unlike a certain Little Prince in a famous novella by French writer and aviator, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, what you can provide on your own means walling off a part of yourself that actually needs a companion or compatriot. We're human. We actually do need relationships. What if it's not enough to sit on your little chair on your little asteroid all alone floating around the Earth? It's a hard to pill to swallow that what you actually need you can't provide and you can't control. Consider then that what you need isn't actually a bad thing. It's not even really another person.
