A little hair tutorial so I can stop forgetting how to paint pretty dark hair. A bonus tip I’ll add is to remember you aren’t painting “hair”, you are painting a shiny black plum.

Struggling to draw an anime head? I got you!
Here is an example of how I study anime heads to draw them better!
1. Take a pic of the head angle you want to study(I took Shenhes Icon)
2. Analyse the Head: Draw the four lines(Hairline,Eyebrows,Nose,Chin),mark in where the eyes, mouth and (if visible) the ears. Note how they all stand in relation to one another
3. Now draw over the pic you chose the guidelines + in more detail(note for example how the eyes are formed:Where do they start? How do they curve?etc.)
4. now hide your first Replica and look only at the ref(plus analysis),draw the head beside the ref
5. Drag your second Replica over the ref; How is it different? Do the proportions match up? Note everything you did different down
6. Hide the ref and analysis and draw based on your notes. Make the changes you noted down
7. Compare again with the ref. Mark in the actual proportions in red
8. Hide the ref again and look only at the last Replica with the red markings. Try to recreate the head again but keep the markings in mind!
9. Repeat steps 7 - 8 until satisfied
And there you have it! 9 easy steps you can do on the fly! You can do this with any art style and picture, so pick out your fav artist and try it on their drawings :D

Some more eye drawing notes/mini tutorial
I often get comments on how I draw eyes and expressions. A lot of expression can be shown in eyes alone, even without eyebrows or other facial features.
Of course, the full range of expressions comes from combining all the components that go into an expression (eyes, eyebrows, mouth, face angle, body language), which makes an infinite number of combinations
