When I'm at my lowest

or when I'm alone

this is when 

my true character is shown.  

Always two options

I have to own -  

positively 

be the light that grows us tall,

or negatively 

act as darkness, consuming all. 

Be a virus 

or be a goddess

we all have a choice

in this process. 

Through thoughts, 

we make choices. 

Through choices, 

we create habits. 

Through habits, 

we create character. 

Through character

we create a destiny.  

Through our destiny  

we create a legacy. 

Who will you choose to create 

and to be?

Rift

Too often I’m torn

between my head

and my heart.

Ever since we were born

we were fed

fallacies, so tart.

Truth always adjourned

until we’re dead.

Reality faked from the start.

We’re forever scorned;

controlled with bread

and consumer marts.

Ruin taking form

as they ravage our beds

destroying all forms of art.

Peace is mourned

as we’re shot in the head

falling forever apart.

What does one do

when you’ve lost your best friend 

but you know your journey 

hasn’t yet reached it’s end. 

I’ve already been so long without you,

and still, my heart has yet to mend. 

Like space and time, 

as one we used to bend.

Back into the darkness, 

I refuse to descend. 

I’m over these sleepless nights

and endless cries

You were my soul mate

at times, my soul’s hate. 

Never have I suffered from a loss so great.

Will I disintegrate

without you, at this rate? 

What is this cruel fate?
