I love how even though he's just unused in concept art and only a part of the Black Cauldron's lore, you include Arawn as a part of this blog. Do we have any headcanons about him?? Like is he bitter that he's… well, not an official villain? Perhaps even too bad for the rest of them?
I partially include Arawn because I find the mystery interesting, but also because he’s a much more important character in the books, as far as I’m aware. (I...still need to read them hahaaa) I like to think he’s bitter at the Horned King especially because he’s somehow aware of the books (though I’m not sure at what degree yet) and feels the King stole his role in the plot and ultimately his throne as well (which is honestly partly true.) In this AU, the King was originally a young servant of Arawn’s who despised him for the way he treated him and chose to betray him, which lead to the tyrant’s initial demise and the creation of the Black Cauldron. So Arawn hates him for that too. I *think* the King being Arawn’s servant is at least partially canon to the books (don’t quote me on it though) but I mostly came up with that headcanon based around the King’s last words, where he seems to address the Cauldron (or the spirit of Arawn itself because I mean, the camera shows us a closeup of its face which is presumably Arawn’s, at least before he was executed anyway) directly - “No, you’ll not have me!” As well as the final “Curse you!” he says to it. I mean maybe he was saying that last bit to Taran, but why wouldn’t he have turned to face him if he’d meant to address him? The way the Cauldron seems to really only want to take him (Taran doesn’t really even seem to be affected by the pull that much, he’s able to escape it in the end while the King couldn’t, and once it’s taken him, no one else is pulled in the same way, it just sinks of its own accord and brings the castle down with it) also implies a personal vendetta over just mindless consuming.
As for how he feels about the rest of the villains, he doesn’t really like any of them either. He’s not currently in the house, still stuck in the Cauldron somewhere, but if he ever gets out, he’ll go for the King first, then take on anyone else who refuses to obey.
I’d say his personality comes down to, “if the Horned King were significantly more sadistic and significantly more eager to show off his power”
