 Don Juan the Triumphant!

a phantom of the opera retelling aimed to bring awareness towards disfiguremisia: the erasure of, and prejudice against, disfigured (or visibly different) people.

When Erik Khan befriends the quiet and meek Christine Daaé, their friendship leads Erik into a world beyond study and song. With Raoul de Chagny and Christine by his side, he is able to step out of the shadows and propose his opera, Don Juan Triumphant, to the opera house managers!

A musical genius isn’t the only thing that lies within the shadows, though. When Erik takes stage, will it give a long-time admirer the confidence to say hello?

Notes about this Retelling:

There will not be any dramatized face ‘reveal’ in this rendition as it doesn’t aid in the normalization of disfigured appearances. 

Erik has Nager Syndrome, which results in the downward sloping of his eyes, absence of the lower eyelashes, limb differences, and oral development.

The newest patrons of the Palais Garnier: the Okilo sisters!

(they sit in box five, per the managers’ gracious, yet suspicious request.) 

I wanted to make an AU where instead of leaving Germany, the Okilo family stays in Europe and their daughters become the latest patrons of the Palais Garnier! 

From applauding the ballerinas after a routine done well (which is new), poking fun at gawking guests, and teasing the managers for writing to them under such a silly alias (Who even is the ‘Opera Ghost’?), the girls have a lot of fun shaking things up!

ALSO, Ama and Ann are always being punks to each other. (Adzo, the middle child, gets left out LIKE ALWAYS...🙄)
