I'M JUST GONNA TALK ABOUT A DANGEROUS GIRLS HEADCANON I HAVE, BECAUSE I NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST.
THIS POST CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK, SO ONLY READ IT IF YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK OR WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WITHOUT READING THE BOOK.
CONTAINS MENTIONS OF STABBING AND DEATH
I inhale, shaky. "You won't leave me," I say, a quiet note of desperation in my voice.
"Never." Elise wipes the tears from my cheeks and kisses me again. "I'm yours, and you're mine. Always."
"Always." I fall into her, feeling the gentle pull of oblivion. It's dark, and warm, and safe here in her arms. I kiss her back, and wait for the pain to be over.
"I win."
Dangerous Girls Playlist
This is the first time I made a playlist for a book. After reading Dangerous Girls by abbywritesbooks, I played music to calm myself down and realized everything that I randomly listened to could be related to the novel. Maybe it's because there are so many emotions that I felt while reading it, I'm not sure, but it made me do this.
Before anything else, here is my quick review of the book on Goodreads: Dangerous Girls review
For anyone who hasn't read the book yet, I warn you that the some of the song titles and explanations in this post are major spoilers in the book. There's no going back once you've scrolled down this image here.

Tracks:
1. No Light, No Light - Florence + The Machine
Anna, who liked to write down song lyrics, put this on the cover of her notebook. Furthermore, this Florence + The Machine song started Anna and Elise’s friendship. It was the beginning of everything, so it seems fitting that this should be the first song in the mix.
2. Wonderland - Haley Reinhart
Spring Break in Aruba to the group means forgetting all about their worries back home and just letting themselves loose for the whole week in wonderland! Right?
3. Delilah - Tom Jones
A song about murder, and at the end of the book, it’s clear that there are more similarities than just the murder weapon.
4. Pressure - The 1975
This song fits what Anna was experiencing in the prison.
5. Follow Me (I'm Right Behind You) - Haley Reinhart
Like what was always said and implied in the book, Anna would follow Tate anywhere. The same goes for Anna and Elise’s relationship.
6. Dear Anna - Jason Mraz
I think it’s the perfect song for Anna from Elise. It’s clear that Elise was more drawn to her, and she would constantly remind Anna that they will be the ones who will stick together until the end.
7. Don't Trust Me - Phillip Phillips
You can’t trust anyone, not even the narrator. Especially not the narrator.
8. Risky Business - Nick Gill
After reading the novel and finding about Anna, did you stop to think about all that she has said and done? Like what I said about the previous song, even if we’re in her head, she couldn’t be trusted. What she did was risky and she could have easily been found really guilty, but good for her, everything fell into place.
9. Girl With One Eye - Florence + The Machine
Also mentioned in the book, Anna liked to write the lyrics of this song over and over. Along with the other violent essays, we were fooled to believe that it was nothing, but Dekker, however immoral he was, was right to believe that it was her psychopathic ways.
10. Feeling Good - Muse
I chose the version of the song which I thought was the most haunting. Anna was finally found innocent, to the expected relief of the readers. And for others who thought she was actually guilty, I was on edge, because I didn’t know if I was right, but then she said:
“I win.”
And the whole world went into shock.
This is the perfect winning song for Anna.
11. A Letter to Elise - The Cure
I can’t believe I lucked into finding songs that included their names and significance in the story. After that haunting reveal, there was one final flashback in which Anna found out about Elise and Tate’s betrayal the day she murdered her.
“Elise, believe I never wanted this… but there’s nothing else I can really do.”
Of course Anna would kill Elise and not Tate – she loved her more. We don’t know what really happened during Elise’s final moments, and even though we know that Anna is a psychopath, we can assume that this line I quoted from the song (or anything close to it) happened. I mean, Elise was still her best friend and lover.
