Anna Meredith
As a big time Neoclassical listener, I find something so similar in some forms of electro.
Based on my top ten films (see earlier post), I’ve realised that my ideal movie would be a stop-motion animated road trip comedy where an estranged daughter/mother former-folk-duo (voiced by Rooney Mara & Toni Collette) reconnect in the wake of the mother’s cancer diagnosis.
They leave their idyllic English seaside town for one last tour, joined by Mara’s precocious daughter (Elsie Fisher) and supportive husband (Dev Patel), meeting a variety of colourful characters (all voiced by beloved British comedy actors). Directed by Armando Ianucci; screenplay by Rian Johnson; music by Anna Meredith, with original songs by The Magnetic Fields.
It’s called ‘Little Pieces of the Eighth Personal Social Frank and the Two Mystic Knives of Miss Coraline’
