New Projects, Means New Blog!

Hello everyone! I’m Anna from the tumblr http://anna-petlick-artist.tumblr.com/ ! I’m starting this little blog here to be an outlet for my more 2D work and to hopefully get more narrative with it than I have before! I just earned my bachelors degree in jewelry and metalwork from GVSU, so I am in no way a professional illustrator nor do I claim to be one.

This blog is just an outlet for me to share my stories and passions with like minded people. I have several ideas knocking around so I hope you’ll enjoy them :) If you like my work, please consider giving me a follow and definitely reblog and like the things you like most! It helps a lot.

In progress wedding bands for my SO and myself. When put together the rings form a heart on both sides. Each ring has 2 halves of the heart on opposing sides. Since I’m a poor art student they will be cast in silver instead of gold. Please reblog if you like what I do and want to help me out. Likes are nice but absolutely *do not* help. Prototype of my piece titled ‘Softening the Blow’ for my BFA Thesis at Grand Valley State University. The final ring will be cast in bronze with plastic poof forms. My new babe of a vase! It’s just shy of 12 inches tall (30.48 cm) and boy did centering this beast give me a workout! This is the first time I’ve ever thrown something this big so I’m pretty darn proud <3

Attraction & Repulsion by Anna Petlick (that's me~!)

Project for my sculpture class last semester with the theme of above pieces title. I cast a vintage hairbrush in bronze and replaced the brush bristles with 50 African porcupine quills. Materials: bronze, african porcupine quills, peanut oil, 2-part epoxy. Property of Anna Petlick. All rights reserved. 2013. please Please do not steal this, or any other of my photos.
