and it's finally done! this one was quite a bit out of my usual comfort zone, but i managed to finish it! :D

anyway, as per usual stills & some cut/behind the scenes stuff from the animatic can be found below the cut ^^

behind the scenes/cut content:

these 2 are both stuff i cut from the final. where the line goes "i'll do whatever it takes" i was initially going to draw phil in the first pose, but i ended up scrapping that bc i didnt like how it looked. second one just didn't work out in the animatic so i removed it entirely.

...speaking of phillip:

here's some practices i doodled of phil bc zac efron's hair is really hard to draw. i love phillip but i absolutely hate drawing his hair (i still have no idea how to draw it)

these were the final storyboards/thumbnail sketches i used for the later half of the vid (ignore the fact that they were drawn at 3 AM), but actually there were two versions of this sequence!

the original sequence i first thought up for this scene looked a little more like this:

but i ended up changing it to focus more on the circus fire in the end. the animatic would have also ended a bit earlier if i used this plan instead haha

this was the color reference sheet i used for the most part!

also, some color symbolism notes for some colours that i used a lot in the animatic :DDD (this was my fav part to plan haha)

lastly (before we move on to the stills lmao), this is some of how i plan out the colours in each scene. just a single block for the background, and then another block for the foreground+the characters to have an idea of what the final will look like

it'll probably be a while before i do another animatic this long + this detailed lol but there's definitely some more parts of the TGS characters that i want to explore, so i'll probably be making some smaller animatics for them :D (barnum especially, there's one part of his character that i also really want to make an animatic about aside from his dynamic with phil. that's probably going to be next.)
