Why do you not like people who read multiple books at once?

i actually do it myself now, in my depraved old age (in fact i’m currently reading around five different books), but when i was little and very pure i totally regarded it as a lack of commitment and respect to that one book which was supposed to have your complete and utter devotion until it was rightfully finished
