KQ's design is inspired mainly by the blue ringed octopus, but I also looked to Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean, Thrax from Osmosis Jones, the Inklings and Octokids, and Eddie Gordo from the Tekken Games.

Thankfully their ability to camouflage is based more on instinct and they don't conciously have to choose the colors they need to blend into.
Colors of the rings generally remain glowing blue, but can react with their mood.
Those tentacles move and are prehensile. They are semi-sentient in that they can move without KQ's mental input. This includes reacting to outside stimulants (such as curling from an unwanted touch) or acting out subconscious wants or needs.
Those suckers will leave marks if left too long on your skin.
The tentacles need to kept hydrated to avoid damage and keep them at full mobility. When properly taken care of, they feel smooth and a little slick, and cool to the touch.
KQ is so far the only anon with anything to style on their head and they enjoy that as they take the time to style their tentacles each day.
Can pop off the head tentacles or limbs if needed. It doesn't hurt so long they are aware and in control of it happening
Tentacles regrow quickly.
KQ can lose and regrow whole limbs. No, that detached limb won't grow another KQ. Limbs regrow slower than their tentacles.
Are they venomous/poisonous? Yes. Is it fatal? Yes. Is it the blue rings? No. They gotta bite you with intent for anything to happen. So, go get your hugs.

Tends to dress casually outside events and wears clothes that shows off their physique.
Remarkably smart and clever despite doing things that could and usually do injure them.
Will do stupid shit like threaten to beat someone with their own detached arm and then actually do it.
If required in emergencies, will pop off a tentacle and chuck it at the enemy as a distraction to make a getaway while enemy is either struggling or screaming.
You see that one, pretty big sharp tooth? It has a partner and those teeth can do real damage. Often will go for shock humor by biting and cracking random stuff with them.
Flexible. You'd swear they were boneless. If their head can fit through, the rest of them can to.
The blue are natural markings while the red is eyeliner and eyeshadow.
