Thank you for the explanation, it was very informative
That being said, you do realise that you did not really warn Loki about dark magic, right? From what I can tell, you purposefully hid all information from him, including everything that might have made it clear why he should not attempt it. Everyone would have been both curious and unprepared
Perhaps actually communicating your thoughts and worries might help
- Crow
Little Crow, do you think I do not realize this? I know I made a mistake, and Loki paid the price.
Never again, starling. I try to learn from my mistakes, and oh, I have made so many over the centuries. The worst mistake one can make is the same one.
Most I have known have listened to me, heeded my every word. Even Ziard, for all his stubborn pride, listened better than Loki does. If I had hidden information from Ziard, he would have trusted in me to share it with him when the time was right.
Loki is... different. Annoyingly stubborn, and proud, but also.... gentle. Sharp, but soft, too. So kind, and yet so hurt, and I do not understand how but I am glad.
It is not right, what was done to them. By Thanos, by their family.... by me.
I should not have attempted to hide dark magic from Loki. I know that now. If I could do it over again, I would have taught Loki the theory, and explained why they should never actually attempt the magic. Perhaps they would have listened.
I will do better, Crow. If all goes well, I should be able to put the next phase of my plan into action soon. And before I do, I will tell Loki-- last time I took steps towards escape without telling them, they attempted dark magic. I will not allow that to happen again.
Is there any literature you genuinely enjoy and would possibly like to share with Aaravos?
Also, I'm happy to hear you are fond of corvids ;)
- Crow
I enjoy most fiction, but it should be well-written before I can enjoy it. Also, I suppose I am not a fan of anything that centers a romantic relationship above all else.
I enjoy heist stories, in which a band of diverse people become a team and accomplish a goal. I also enjoy reading tales of real people, narrative nonfiction and the like. So long as the characters are interesting and sympathetic, and there is no unnecessary or forced romance, I will enjoy it.
@aaravosanswers are all your fiction books romance oriented? If so, this will certainly be a tedious imprisonment.
Crows are very fun and clever creatures. Is it any wonder you named yourself after them and that I enjoy them?
WOW, I'm not taking back what I said to Loki but he made a fair point
You're very rude to him on occasion! Maybe reign that in a bit?
Also, I'm sure you don't mean it in a demeaning way but calling him princess while he's in his male form is uh... questionable at best, downright cruel at worst
If I'm still allowed, I might be back with an actual question next time
Have a nice day/night/whatever time it is for you
- Crow
Me, rude? Starling, how am I rude?
I do not understand how calling him "princess" is cruel or demeaning. I understand it could be, if princesses were considered lesser than princes, but they are equal, no? It does not have to be a gendered title.
Okay, genuine question this time
How does connecting to the primal sources work? I did a little bit of research but I'm not quite clear on this
Especially since you mentioned Loki could possibly connect to one of them despite using a different kind of magic
- Crow
Greetings, Crow. I apologize that this answer has taken me so long! Thousands of years of memories to sort through on my end, and mun got a little bit lost in roleplay AUs and tangential threads.
Let's see. Connecting to a source is both more difficult than it sounds, and less. One must, well, develop a connection. For instance, when I connected to the stars, I had to truly know, in my heart and with every fiber of my being, that I was a star. The stars were not merely distant lights. They were power, they were beauty, they were truth. And they were inside me. They were a part of me, and I was a part of them. I was naught but stardust.
Every source is different, though, and so the connections must be different as well. To connect to the ocean, I had to nearly drown, to go to the brink of truly becoming one with the ocean-- and then pull myself back from death. The earth was nearly the opposite: a week of calm meditation in solitude before I felt as though I truly knew the Earth Arcanum. The Sky was different again, as I had to understand the feeling of flight, of taking control of my own destiny even as the wind changed my every path, as a bird chooses its flight although the wind fights it and helps it.
The Sun Arcanum speaks of power and light, strength and purity. The Moon, of illusions and lies, of life and death. The Sun is a single-minded nigh-unstoppable force; the Moon is a duality, harmony. Undertaking these two connections one after the other was quite interesting, to say the least. I learned a great deal.
...I have rambled.
To answer briefly, little Crow, to connect to an arcanum you must first understand what it represents. You must see, know, and become the truth of the Arcanum's magic.
[mun says: all headcanon based off "I am the wing!" and Callum's connection]
Are you talking about Six of Crows? I feel like you're talking about Six of Crows
I have not yet read it but it's very high up on my tbr list
If that's not it, any recommendations?
And I also get annoyed by unnecessary romance plots, especially if they catch me off guard
- Crow
I am not familiar with many Midgardian books, and I have not read this one. I might like to.
I shall open this up to my followers: give me and Crow recommendations for Midgardian literature.
