I also think Ben may "turn" early in the movie and the final climax is not his redemption per se, but them confronting Palpatine, Palpatine trying to turn Rey or Ben against each other and them realizing their feelings with Ben doing something heroic and sacrificial. I feel that Daisy comment about "exploring" redemption might tell more than we think, they prolly won't do a last minute thing but they'll work together for 2/3 or the movie.

LOOKS AROUND SUSPICIOUSLY. THIS is what I want. Did you read my mind, Nonnie? Lol. I would love to see them interact throughout the move and see Kylo interact with Rey's friends, like that is what I want.

And the ultimate temptation--and a noble sacrifice?! Oh. My. Goodness. Okay, so not to make everything about Revan and Bastila, but *spoilery* at the end of KotOR, Bastila falls to the dark side and Revan has to try to save her (either bring her back to the light, or join her on the dark side). She begs Revan to kill her (it's very dramatic), but Revan does save her and goes on to battle Darth Malak.

And good god damn, with the Emperor there to egg things on (ultimate evil!!!), just like he did with Luke and Vader in RotJ. OHHH I'M TOO WORKED UP. TOO WORKED UP.

Would Ben sacrifice himself to keep her safe? Would she for him? I think it could happen. And, with this being a film that's meant to heal a generational wound and ultimately save the Skywalkers (help them rise, being the ultimate conclusion to Anakin's story as being told through his grandson, where Ben, with the proper help and understanding, will be able to succeed where Anakin failed. I JUST HAVE TOO MANY EMOTIONS).

But where Anakin paid with his life and wasn't actually able to heal the wounds he caused because he died (which then passed down via Luke and Leia, and were exasperated by Palpatines's influence) BEN will be able to atone and help bring balance to his family and, by extension, the Force.

Okay. Okay. That's a lot of speculating and it's late and I have a headache. But. BUT. FUN.

I love how Daisy shot down both D/amerey and F/nnRey by saying they are just friends. But with Ben, she says that their relationship will be much more explored and that we have to wait and see. It would be so easy for her to say that she and Ben are back to being enemies and all that but she didn’t. Their relationship is so important to the story and to both Rey and Ben.

Okay, so my tendonitis is acting up something fierce lol so I’m going to have to take a break after this, but I mean... And I’m not knocking anyone’s ships (boy, do I know what that feels like). Ship whatever you want, but in this case I do think it’s interesting what was emphasized (friends and family).

He’s the giant, Adam-sized elephant in the room. They hardly talked about Kylo at all (SHOCKING, not really), and it’s 100% because he’s a walking spoilers.

I think they’re going to avoid talking about Rey and Kylo as much as possible. Good thing John is out there with the save: “They want to see the dynamic between Rey and Kylo, they want more explanation of the past.” Sooooooooo yeah. Love him. 

Anyways, the relationship between them has always been important and was established by JJ himself, so we’re in good hands. People can screech all they want about whatever they want, but if you watch the movies, it’s pretty fucking clear where things are going.

Esp with that title. The Rise of Skywalker? Are you fucking kidding me right now???? LOL. Cheers!

GMA runs live on the east coast at 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. It's recorded by ABC and run again for central zone affiliates and the west coast. Anyone with a cable provider can sign onto the ABC site and stream what they've missed. I'll still be asleep when it airs but I'm sure those interviews will be all over twitter and elsewhere after airing.

If anyone is interested in seeing the cast interviews for Star Wars, apparently, they're on GMA on Monday. That's my sleep-in day, so hahaha I'll wait to see it all later once some intrepid soul gifs/videos it.

LF and Disney need to do a better fucking job of protecting their creators and actors because this fandom is toxic as fuck.

This is a fucking children’s movie franchise. IT IS MADE FOR FUCKING CHILDREN. And we have people flinging death threats, insults, racism, whatever over a fucking kid’s movie.

Like, I’m done with it. I’m not giving these assholes any more of my time or attention (not meaning you, Nonnie, I was going to post about this because it makes my blood fucking boil).

No more trying to get people to understand, no more discussions with people who are willfully trying to destroy this fandom because their headcanons got blown up.

MSW has a pretty good rebuttal of this rumor as well, but my comment still stands. This fandom is fucking toxic and I’m tired of seeing good people get raked over the coals because of a kid’s movie. They did it to George (and Hayden and Ahmed and Jake etc etc etc) and they never stopped. Why are these people IN the fandom if all they contribute is hate?

I don’t get it and I don’t have to facilitate it with attention any longer.

Do you think Ben has other scars on his body? Idk why but I imagined he has long scars on his back due to Snoke’s training and punishments then Rey sees his faded scars when he takes off his shirt because it’s wet or full of sweat in IX. Idk why I am emotionally hurting myself thinking this way.

Okay, first! Be kind to yourself. While it’s super awesome to be able to see ourselves in and sympathize with characters in a story, and can be a great way we can learn and grow ourselves, if it’s happening to our own detriment.

If any of this is making you sad, or causing you pain, take some time for yourself and either take a step back from fandom, or! Focus on aspects of the story that being you joy. For me, I definitely find that I can get a little caught up on the tragic aspects of this story, which definitely can drag me down. So, if I’m starting to feel sadder in fandom than happy, I take some time for myself. Hang out with my bestie. Listen to some upbeat music, and think about the parts of fandom and, if I’m tying to draw myself away from the sad aspects of Ben Solo’s story, I think about when he was young, or how he seemed to come into his own when he finally took those steps forward to rid himself of Snoke.

I think of how he was so excited to see his uncle Lando that he ran out bucknaked to greet him. How his parents really did love him, even of their lives sometimes made things challenging. I think of happy endings for the story, of head canons of how I’d like things to go.

If you ever feel like it, or anyone, send me happy head canons! I don’t always have time to post everything, but I love reading happy thoughts that people share with me. Maybe I’ll do like a weekly roundup on Sundays, kind of group them together so I can actually get to them all lol.

Anyways, maybe you’re fine and I’m worrying for nothing, but I’d rather be safe than sorry :)

At any rate. We’ve seen Ben without his shirt, and as far as I can see, the only scars he seems to have are the ones that Rey/Chewie gave him. I don’t doubt that things weren’t great with Snoke, but I’m not sure how much the story in EPIX will focus on Snoke’s presence in Ben’s life, aside from kind of impressions of what might have happened. I imagine the story will primarily be dealing with how he and the rest of the main characters move into the future.

It’s possible we’ll get an idea of what Ben’s life was like growing up after the movies are done with books and comics (they’d be stupid not to do this, tbqh).

Anyway, I’d pretty much die to see Rey touch Ben’s scar on his face (my God), and the same for him to her (MY GOD), but I hope it comes from a place of healing. We’ve seen so much sadness from these two, I’d love to see some happiness and healing.
