Hey, Tumblr? Can we talk? Because I had something weird pop into my head and I need somewhere to yell this to. I thought about making a TikTok about it, but I'm feeling a little self-conscious, so we're going to put this into written word.
But who would win in a fight?
In one corner...:
Colonel Roy Mustang, the Flame Alchemist. Hot piece of ass. Delicious piece of fictional man.
OR!
Shota Aizawa. Pro Hero Eraserhead. Also, hot piece of anime man ass. Also a delicious dumpster gremlin. That fucking smirk gets to me every goddamn time hot dayum.
I got to thinking about it hardcore tonight. Not sure why this popped into my head, but it did. And here we are. But I have several questions.
First of all, would Mustang's alchemy count as a quirk? Because if it does, then, Aizawa's got that wiped out for a hot second. Pun unintended, but it gave me a cheap teehee. Anyway. Until Aizawa blinks, Mustang's fighting without his alchemy and now, it's a bareknuckle fight between Mustang and Aizawa.
I have no doubt in my mind that Mustang's had hand to hand combat training when he first got into the military. But does he have hand to hand training like Aizawa? Because at the end of the day, quirk or not, Aizawa's turned his body into a weapon (because he can't fight on his quirk alone). He could kick someone's ass. And I'm sure he could go toe to toe with Mustang.
Second, would we allow weapons? Because technically, Mustang's gloves would count as a weapon. It's how his alchemy is performed. Unless he does something silly like take a knife and carve the array into his hands and cauterize it real quick...But Aizawa would still have his capture scarf, too...I'm sorry, I need to go tend to a nosebleed. No reason. Definitely not thinking about Mustang wrapped up in the capture scarf all shibari style. Nope. Couldn't be me.
And in this hypothetical fight, would we allow their respective emotional support blondes in this? Because that would turn into the Present Mic v. Hawkeye debate real quick. And I hate to say it because I love Present Mic so very much, but Hawkeye has him beat. She's a badass sniper with the best shot in Amestrian military history. Hawkeye would pop both Mic and Aizawa and drag Mustang out of the fight by the ear along with a lecture about how he could really be doing something better with his time. It's her one day off and she can't be bothered to deal with his trivial bullshit.
The real reason why this thought came about was because I was thinking about comfort characters and when I realized I had a comfort character. It was definitely Mustang. Mustang was my safe place for a long time...Until I started watching My Hero and episode five of season one happened. Yes, I know the exact episode we first see Aizawa. I know. It's sad. Welcome to the wonderful world of my hyperfixations. But I digress. And I was thinking about my two comfort characters, first and current, fighting each other. So here we are. But I pose this question to you, internet...Who would win in a fight, Aizawa or Mustang? I'm not asking you which series is better. I'm not asking you which character is better. It's a pure power vs. power situation. Who would win in a fight? Arguments are welcome.
