I have never posted about this before but I want to get it off my chest. As someone who used to be a Robron fan for YEARS, I am so sick of how insufferable the fandom is. I don't even care if people still ship them or not because obviously they are together. But the way anyone voices any disagreement with the ship (ESPECIALLY if it's in defence of Robert) they act like you've offended their very existence. Yeah, I actually do think that Kev and Robert are a much more interesting pairing to watch now but I would honestly be fine with both Robert and Kev being single at this point. Robert is far from a saint but I am so sick of how Aaron has always been portrayed as the victim every single time something goes wrong and Robert is the one that has to do the groveling. Mind you, I have literally seen people who supposedly ship Robron cheering on Aaron beating Robert up. So basically domestic violence is ok as long as Aaron is the one doing it to Robert I guess?

And what's worse is that it's not limited to Robron. Robert seems to be the emotional punching bag for the entire village. Even when he's proven right and is the one tearing himself apart for others, he is the one treated like a villain. Kev was definitely toxic to Robert in his own way but at least he was also protective of Robert and didn't go around blaming him for every little thing.

I was so excited when Robert returned and for a minute or really seemed like they were doing something different with his character. But soon enough we went back to the same old shit and we are expected to believe that Robron is this great love story of soulmates.

but robron of old had a really good thing going on, so im not worried about danny and ryan never getting it back, i think they will. for right now tho, i'm enjoying kevbert more. they've infused such great intimacy that we can believe in their marriage. and i just love how much kev loves robert. robert deserves to be loved insanely like that.

Kev fan here! I want Robert separated from the Dingles as they're draining his character. Aaron always pulls focus back to himself and/or his family, he's an incredibly self centered character and has been for ages. He says the right things lately but it's all monotone and doesn't sound actually heartfelt at all. Like he's only saying it to shut Robert up rather than actually meaning it. The Sugdens are tiny and they're getting strangled by the overwhelming Dingle presence. Robert needs to be set free.

Kev's gonna be involved with the Bartons yes but apart from Lewis he's got no other family connection in the village. He had the Andersons before but the show could choose to ignore that this time (which would be a stupid decision to me, I loved their interactions before). Kev has no big family to go running to, no other connections except Lewis. He spent almost five years with Robert day in and day out, and there's so much we don't know about them and what they've been through. There's so much they could do, so much new stuff that they could do with Kev (with or without Robert), that keeps the show interesting. The Robert and Kev scenes were great viewing last year, I had no idea where any of it was going until they shoved robron back together and deflated all the drama.

Robron is boring. They've had their drama years and now they're just reading scripts at each other. Aaron is exceptionally boring as a character, that's not being mean, he just doesn't really do anything but scowl and give orders. He used to be nuanced, but now he's Cain's protege and has lost all of his personality. Being that boring, he drags everyone else down with him.

Robert was interesting last year, his interactions with pretty much most of the village were great, and his scenes with Vic, Kev and John were all brilliant. The scenes with Aaron were not, and this year had continued in the same way. Everyone in the fandom can see it. It's time to move on for Robert, it's time to move on for Aaron, and that happens to coincide with Kev returning.

If kevbert don't get back together, which they probably won't because uk soap writers are getting infiltrated by fandom tumblr/twitter accounts, then as long as Kev has some good scenes I'll be happy. I'm looking forward to him and the Bartons, his scenes with Ross and Lewis last year were great! Also hoping they give him some time with the Andersons, Charles in particular has been missing for a while and I miss him.

There's so much they could do, so much new stuff that they could do with Kev (with or without Robert), that keeps the show interesting.

Robron is boring. I have a soft spot for Aaron, I even liked the proposal during Corriedale, but Robron is not working atm, and hasn't been working since long before Corriedale. There's nothing that draws me in. Aaron is there, but not there. When I see a gif with Aaron crying on the phone with Robert in prison (the one where he says Robert please don't go yet .., THERE IS SO MUCH EMOTION) next to a recent gif, there's a glaring difference in what these scenes make me feel.

Robert isn't counting down the days till kev dies let's be honest! You can hate it all you want....but Robert cried when kev had his heart attack and has said he cares about him deeply to Vic before that.

I genuinely don't think Kev was violent and abusive towards Robert, I think Kev protected him to an intense degree! And Robert loves him for that, yes not "in love" like he loves Aaron we all know Robron are endgame! Though they are both no way near that beyond the kev situation in my opinion, but I believe he cares and has love for Kev! He has been a massive part of his life that's just fact.

As a non apologetic Robert Stan I like the idea that he had someone on his side in his six years of hell...sue me!!

I feel like they're trying to speed run them back into their heyday?! The pull of robron for me was the drama, the cray for cray, and that willingness to WAIT and being chaotic

it seems like they are just pushing interesting potential conflict (aand subsequent juicy resolution) for a quick reunion that doesn't feel interesting/earned/investing like it did back in the day

also that interesting kevbert dynamic just made so meh

OK firstly I actually enjoyed that episode for the most part. Things are moving forward now and it's great to see all of the characters starting to realise things are Wrong. Loved the Bear stuff today, enjoyed Kev and Lewis orbiting each other, adored seeing Matty, Eve and Isaac again!! And Charles!

However, here's my negative.

Do we think we can get an episode without the writers screeching how 'wonderful perfect amazing life changing soulmatey love of each other's lives' robron are? (putting the rest under the cut because I've gone off on one lol)

Or are they going to keep sledgehammering the dead horse home? I just keep rolling my eyes now, the more they say it outright, the less I care. Like, it's honestly so over the top with how they're shoving it in every dialogue instead of showing it, and to be honest I don't even believe it anymore.

Yeah they love each other, but I honestly feel more genuine love in scenes between Paddy and Mandy, and Caleb and Ruby the other week, just off the top of my head. Robron don't feel ✨special✨, it just sounds like they both WANT it to be the case, and it's annoying me. It's like they're self-obsessed characters in a pre-teen romcom that act like they're the greatest love story ever written.

Hoping there's gonna be some huge crash out or twist, because man, this is so stifling and feels like it's cutting off any chance of either Robert or Aaron getting interesting, non-robron storylines and just keeping them chained together "for the fans".

Every time it's just outright stated I can't help but sigh and get annoyed, which is driving me mad because I honestly enjoyed them until they got back together. It's too easy! Nothing's been said or discussed! They're FINE and nothing's changed, like the last 6 years didn't happen. It's too perfect?!

SMASH IT TO PIECES! Make them actually talk? Give me a reason to want them together instead of just because it's the way it was before? There's no passion, it just exists.

Instead, add Aaron in with Paddy and the Bear or Dylan stories. They were supposed to be getting back to their father/son bond right? I miss padron! There's so much character gold that they're missing, I honestly can't believe they've kept them apart.

Literally do anything else with Robert, his mental health stuff has mostly disappeared, we've not had any farm scenes in ages (which was expanding his character), all he's done for the last couple of months is bang Aaron and lie to Kev. Give him something to actually do that's about him for once, not his boy troubles. They started to, now he's just hooked back up to the robron train and has no other thoughts at all.

Only one of them has forgotten a birthday in canon and it ain't Kev.

We've talked about this exact scenario in our gc before haha. It would be soooo funny if that ended up happening 😂

But you're so right, Aaron has canonically forgotten multiple people's birthdays (his own sisters' and possibly Robert's 30th - that wasn't confirmed but he at least cancelled their Barcelona trip because of Liv).

And there's just no way that Kev doesn't know Rob's birthday. I don't buy that for a second.
