Seeing a pro-Israel acquaintance make an Instagram Story and reminding myself to see her genuine grief (people in her community were killed and the longer posts speak of an antisemitist shooting in Canada)… while feeling enraged at her choice to also cry “supposed genocide” and “call out” Palestine activists for not protesting for the plight of other countries (whataboutism).
You gotta live in some kind of bubble if you think your grief gives you the right to say, "I don't believe in YOUR grief at all [your disproportionate suffering under MY Empire] because you're not talking about MINE." Also it isn’t the first time she twisted her racism into her grief. It’s messed up.
In the longer version, she does nothing to hold IDF to account and doesn't recognize it as a force to free Palestinians from.
