(interestingly whether this means fandom with the most works by me or the most works on ao3 the answer is the same and it's batman, lol.) it's probably not the best one but i have a soft spot for Vigil. the prompt i was working from was "a fic i'd want to read right before bedtime," and i think i just like the muted kind of drifting-off tone it has, at least to me.

🙏 wish more people read: genfic idk my fic with the most kudos is Your hands are red from holding tight., and i'm not mad about that at all, but i think because of that i wish more people read all the other fics i've written about gojo & megumi (& tsumiki), bc i think most of them are probably at least almost as good.

this was for a reverse big bang and i was just so intimidated by the whole process, lol. i just really didn't want to let the artist i was partnered with down. also 5k is pretty long for me, i'm very much a bitch of ficlets. i think it came out pretty good?? i probably wouldn't have done as much weird stuff with the timeline if i was doing it today, but. all things considered i think it works. there are a lot of individual scenes in it that i like a lot.

💡 sprang fully formed: Three Unspoken Messages and Three Words Left Unsaid (bungo stray dogs | osamu dazai & sakunosuke oda, osamu dazai/nakahara chuuya | teen & up audiences | 2k words

i saw a tiktok that was like "there's a timeline where mori killed chuuya instead of oda" and immediately spent the rest of the evening banging out the first chapter of this in a fucking fugue state. (the second chapter was written several months later for a prompt event, so the second chapter doesn't count for this exercise lol but the first chapter was a one-shot wonder and was originally intended to stand alone, so.)

🏆 proud of: if i'm being totally honest, everything i've written over 2k words, lol. i'm really a flash fiction writer at heart so if a fic is longer than 2k i can guarantee you i worked pretty hard on it, and some of them have even come out pretty good - Oh Let's Smile and now and then, which i already talked about; Blood for Your Rude Brawls is another one that comes to mind (that's my romeo & juliet/the witcher crossover that i will never ever shut up about bc it's actually so fire).

“Why did you leave?”

Bruce’s eyes softened at the sound of Dick Grayson’s voice, hoarse from disuse. He sat down in the chair he’d pulled up next to the boy’s bed.

“I just went to get some coffee,” Bruce assured him, giving Dick’s hand a brief squeeze before sitting back with the mug in his hands. “But I’m glad you’re awake. How do you feel?”

“Sore mostly,” Dick said, grimacing. 

“I’ll have Alfred get you some more painkillers,” Bruce said.

“Will they make me sleep again?” Dick asked.

“They will, but resting’s the best thing you can do right now,” Bruce said. “You’ll heal faster.”

“You never rest,” Dick mumbled.

Bruce managed a rueful grin. “No. I don’t exactly set a good example, do I?”

Dick shrugged, then flinched when the movement tugged at the bandages wrapped around one shoulder. “You do in some ways.”

“Oh?” Bruce prompted, raising an eyebrow.

“I mean, the way you fight bad guys,” Dick said. “That’s good.”

“Not everyone would agree with you,” Bruce said. “Am I really setting a good example by fighting? By operating outside the law? You don’t see that in a lot of parenting books.”

Dick snorted a laugh. “As if you’ve ever read a parenting book.”

“Ouch!” Bruce said, feigning injury, and Dick laughed again.

“Still, I think you’re doing okay,” Dick said, allowing his eyes to slip shut again.

Bruce allowed himself another small smile, swallowing against the lump that had formed in his throat. “I’ll go and get Alfred,” he told the boy softly, and he quietly left the room.

71. You’ve been drinking tonight, haven’t you?

Kento Nanami held his liquor concerningly well for a teenager.

Satoru hadn’t been tipped off by anything so obvious as slurred speech or unfocused eyes, but simply by the fact that Nanami didn’t seem to be thinking before he spoke, which wasn’t like him. That and he seemed less droll and more just… mean.

“You’ve been drinking tonight, haven’t you?” Satoru asked.

Nanami settled him with a sharp-eyed glare. “What are you, my mom?”

“Aw, you’re so cute when you act like a teenager instead of a thirty-year-old man,” Satoru cooed, pinching the younger boy’s cheek. Nanami swatted his hand away.

“Fuck off, Gojo.”

“I was just—”

“Just coming to see how I was,” Nanami cut him off. “Yeah, I know. But you know what? I would really, really like to just be left the hell alone right now. I don’t care if it’s unhealthy, okay, I just—for one night I just want to drink and be sad, okay? So go find some other way to distract yourself.”

Satoru stiffened.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” he asked.

“It means I know I’m just your little project,” Nanami spat. “Because as long as you’re keeping me from spiraling you don’t have to think about yourself, right? You don’t have to think about Geto.”

Gojo felt those words like a slap and rage flared inside his chest.

“If that’s all I was trying to do there are easier ways than hanging out with your gloomy ass,” he shot back. He gestured at half-empty bottle of wine beside his junior. “Drowning myself in alcohol being one of them.”

“You don’t drink,” Nanami pointed out.

“You know what? Whatever,” Satoru said, reaching the end of his rope. “Fuck you. You’re right, I don’t have to deal with this. Enjoy your little pity party, douchebag.”

Nanami sent him off with a crude gesture as Satoru slammed his dorm room door behind him.

💝 what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

i always expect my satosugu fics to do better than they do?? lol. like come on y'all i thought you were horny for this one.

it's because they're always sad it's because people want them to be happy and i will not let them.

and i guess i like "get" it now but i really was flabbergasted when i first posted all in, palms out and it got the response it got. like, now i understand that's what The People are really horny for (of all the fics i posted last year my top 5 are all gojo & megumi world's okayest dad and feral kitten son content) but at the time i was truly not expecting it to do as well as it did.

i'm honestly fully gobsmacked that my least kudos'd fic is a trc fic????? lmao i figured it'd be an r&j fic or something with no fandom like zone blanche, but trc was like. i genuinely don't think i ever got more compliments on my writing than i did when i was writing trc fic, straight up.

anyway.

so this is a little drabble i wrote for a prompt meme; it's only 116 words. in that small space, though, i think i do a pretty good job of capturing a fun facet of ronan and gansey's friendship. it also contains the phrase "gasoline sliding through his muscles" which is, i'm sorry, fucking french kiss superb. everyone yassed.

and i have personally always enjoyed the figurative image of words or breath getting ripped out the passenger-side window of a fast-accelerating car.
