once

when i was very very sleep deprived 

i'm talking days without sleep

i decided

for some reason

to binge on marble hornets

it was not my best move:

i watched video after video read all the little webpages i was super into it

and basically even though i knew i knew it wasn't real my semi-delusional brain just

couldn't handle it and all of a sudden i went from enjoying the creepy and being pleasantly scared to utterly outright panicked 

that night i couldn't sleep i was so freaked my brain was just not fucking having it i was so tired that everything felt overwhelming

and since i couldn't sleep i just got more and more sleep deprived until it had been something like 72 hours without any rest on top of several days without even naps

i started hallucinating from sleep deprivation i mean literally hallucinating my fear spread i stopped being afraid of the slenderman and started being afraid of everything tangentially related - of trees of people of darkness and silence and noise

i spent another day desperately trying to wrestle some sense into myself as i sat frozen, alone, in the center of my room listening to the same mp3 on loop for hours

and then i passed out

the end

i woke up twenty hours later

and i guess i wasn't afraid anymore
