29 because i'm mean and 6 because i'm curious 🙂↕️
maaaaan this are simultaneously the best & worst ones you couldve picked, they're FUN but they're also so HARD, hnnngggg.
6. favourite title?
ALL OF THEM *explodes*
coming up with titles is one of my fav part about writing fanfic and i adore all of my titles, i wouldn't have chosen them if i didn't.
HM: comin' down, no sound, it's all around, i think it fits the fic perfectly and i am very proud of myself for finishing the fic and immediately being like "hold on, gotta listen to snow on the beach, i feel like there's a fitting title somewhere in there"
but i fear my favourite is longview, but that might just be bc i love that song and that fic so fuckin much. i also have a very sweet spot for one word titles, especially when it's a longer fic. plus, i feel like the song is just very... clint in the first half of the fic lmfao, and it's makes for a nice pun bc... you know... they're 700 feet apart from each other for most of the fic, only watching each other through binoculars... one might say it's a... long... view......
29. favourite line/passage you wrote?
can i say the entirety of fade into you??? please??? no??? at least the last 4 scenes???? no??? well screw you 😔
i'm just gonna choose 3 random snippets from that one because i genuinely love it all.
So. No rings. Just a kiss and a promise and one specific joke from Tony that Clint actually does want to punch him for (but James is faster), and then it’s a done deal.
Clint has a husband, and that husband is a ghost, and that ghost is going to die, even though no one agrees with him on that wording.
It’s kind of like the whole ‘til death do us part thing has doubled for them. Just Clint’s luck.
and
“Dead serious,” James says. Seems to realize what just came out of his mouth a second later, and covers his face with his hands with a huffed laugh. “God, that was awful.”
Clint snorts. “Sounds like something I would say.”
“It does, doesn’t it?” He cracks up for real now, laughing into his metal hand and then into the summer air when he drops it. He looks beautiful like this, even when he’s see-through and the sun can’t really catch on all his features. Shiny hair framing his face, eyes so bright they look gray, that dimple next to his mouth on full display, those wrinkles in the corner of his eyes—the exact same laugh on the exact same face he had two decades ago. And it’s not even that funny or anything, but it’s summer and James is still here, and James is laughing, and James is beautiful, so Clint can’t do anything but join him.
and
“He’s getting worse, right?” He asks after a while, when the silence gets too heavy.
Wanda’s voice is soft when she says, “James and I both agree that worse is the wrong word.”
Clint knows that. It’s been drilled into his mind for the past eight years. He knows that James still sees this as something good, for the most part, that it’s basically a blessing for him, and he gets it. He really does.
He also wants to punch something. And yell at something. Yell about how fucking fucked up and awful and horrible and terrifying and heartbreaking and soul-rotting all of this is. Wants someone to get that. To get him.
He doesn’t say any of that.
this and everything else. i am surprisingly confident & happy with my writing this year.
thanks for the ask!!
