The year is 2035.

Crowds of ppl glut shops of all kinds, milling around, bewildered. No one works there. No one knows how to turn the registers on, let alone operate them. It doesn't matter. There's nothing on the shelves. The storerooms have been bare for months.

They walk into restaurants. No one seats them. No one takes their orders. The kitchens are silent. Footprints in the dust lead to empty tables.

Children roam the street, breaking windows in frustration. There's no one to watch the youngest. The oldest have heard of theaters, arcades, theme parks, but they will never know what they truly are. They have holes in their lives, shaped like tutors and librarians, but those things don't exist anymore. They want more than the choices they've been given: follow in your parents' footsteps or starve.

Starve. The threat holds little weight as they sip glasses of water and stare into empty refrigerators. Their parents spend most days wandering, trapped in a bloated market, unneeded and unprepared.

This isn't the future they were promised. The libertarian anons told them to become electricians and plumbers. They did. They all did. Now, everyone is skilled. Everything hums. Everything is connected. And nothing works.
