like ok . augh . i have very complicated feelings on the thalmor. because i don't like the idea of reducing characters down to sympathetic sadboys, especially when they're, y'know, thalmor. but i do believe in complex characters and complicating the narrative and giving characters reasons to be who they are, because the best monsters are human. or, in this case, elven.

the stock evil villains that we got in skyrim could be so much more horrific and terrifying - and frankly, monstrous - if we met thalmor agents who weren't just the justiciars we get on the road and the named NPCs with barely any real personality outside of stock evil bad guy. the consequences of their actions, and that they repeat these actions time and time again, can be an intense driving force to actually see how something like the dominion warps someones mind. augh

So glad we wasted a whole day off waiting for the furnace guy, only for him to not even show up bc his one appt would take the whole day. I mean I'm not mad at HIM, I'm mad that there was no communication, like "hey I'm probably not gonna get to my other appts today..." until 3pm. In a 8am-4pm service window.

The lady did reschedule us and made sure we'd be first FIRST thing in the morning... but still...

Like mom and I are both fucking tired as hell today, couldn't nap or sleep in bc we didn't know what time theyd show up, and both are in pain today. Well different reasons, but STILL :(

Maybe this is payback for us taking so much of the plumber guy's time a few weeks ago shdgdgdhhd bc WE were that appt that should have been quick and took the rest of the day 😅
