Silence

I have so many profound things I want to say. But I realized that the most profound thing is the silence, that unwavering peace, where the universe is screaming telling you all it’s secrets.

Farewell to a dream.

And that’s when he realized it was not about him. It had never been about him. So with tears in his eyes, and a smile. He walked into the night laughing and wiping the salty drops from his face.

I've been gone for quite some time. I know when we think of time, we immediately think of it as this constantly moving entity that looms over our heads, watching disapprovingly like a 50′s father.

Typically, that’s not what I mean.

Try to imagine time as another axis. Another reality we can only move along with in parallel, but never actually manage to enter. A universe where the deadlines of this reality don’t exist because you've actually found your way in to the eye of the tornado where all is as still as death.

Death wouldn't be the right word to describe it, if we’re being perfectly frank.

...and saying we “never actually manage to enter” is false too. We have our moments when we have the power to change direction and for a split second run perpendicular across it. Tearing through the thin membrane that separates us.

It lasts the aggregate time of a sharp intake of breathe, but feels like a lifetime.

Another lifetime given to you to do as you wish. Consider it life’s little bonus rounds for every stage of your life you beat because that’s really where the energy to change direction will come from. You can do whatever you want with this power.

And that brings us to my lesson since the last time I posted. Managing all the breaks in time life gives you to appreciate the beauty in the flaws of its design. The imperfect moment of perfection.

I chose to soar.

This blogging experience alone has given me the power to tear through that membrane a lot more often than I could. Mainly, due to the fact that I now have to ask myself everyday; what I learnt on that particular day. I now see the moments when I soar, and the moments when I plummet with the same velocity. Despite this, I still run through the barrier, jump off the edge, thrust myself in to the air and enjoy the wind in my hair as I fall. It’s all experience.

So I’ve been gone a while and can’t wait for my next trip. It’s all been building up to this. Every single second that passes seeming longer than the last is the consequence of monotony. Break the cycle and you learn how far the walls of time stretch before you can break them and rebuild them to your specifications. It’s been said a million times over - It’s the journey that counts, not the destination.

So why rush?
