If its not obvious yet im talking about tattoos, tattoos? really? you may be thinking, and yes I believe tattoos should be high art. for many reasons. tattoos are always intentional because its is a long and hard process that cant just accidentally be done. 

tattoos also hold value either sentimentally, or monetarily. tattoos can mean alot of different things to alot of different people. even in the video near the end the girl Leah talks about a tattoo she has that she posted on reddit and people noted and liked and discussed, the tattoo brought strangers together. and of course tattoos aren't free so that's where the monetary value comes in.

sometimes they aren't so happy and the just make you think, 

like this, this is an image that really makes you feel something which all high art should do. 

But all tattoos make someone feel something which is really what should classify all tattoos as high art to someone.

Metalcore (more commonly labeled "screamo") isn't usually considered high art, but I argue that is it. The reason many wouldn't consider it high art, or not even art at all, is probably due to the extensive use of screamed vocals. However, that is only one aspect of this musical genre. Just like all other bands, metalcore bands express ideas and emotions through music, their work has purpose and intention. There is an incredible amount of skill and effort put into making songs, and these songs can only be made by the extensive collaboration of all band members. For example, one skill that can be examined is that of the drummer. First, even though I have never played a musical instrument in my life, I can tell that the average person cannot drum at all, or as well as the two men in the video above. Second, it is clear that there is an extreme amount of physical and mental control, and this is can be reasoned from the fact that the two drummers are playing in near perfect synchrony. Furthermore, they are performing from their mind. The entire song, every beat of the song, where they must land their drumstick and when, is memorized. They are in extreme control of their bodies, knowing where their feet are and how fast they may be going on the drum pedals, where their hands, etc. To me, it looks like multitasking to the extreme. One should also note that it is essential for the drummer to keep time, meaning the whole band is relying on the drummer. All the other members also have their roles, and so they all rely on each other.

This is another example of music made with emotion and creativity. This is high art to me because it makes me feel something. Other may just see it as a simple song, but I see it as something entirely different. I see it as someone spilling out their feelings in a beautiful way.

Trash can be considered forms of our deconstruction in our everyday lives. Bernard Prasthat managed to create an amazing view from some not-so-appealing types of medium. Remember when we took that adventure onto Main-street and drew those not-so-amazing (at least not for me) sketches of different views through the sliders? This is a perfect example of when those perspectives can create masterpieces. The portrait itself can easily be considered high art but what truly makes it high art is the deconstruction behind its creation. I absolutely love this type of work :)

I listen to this while I was making supper--pizza, homemade crust, it didn't suck--and they said that, "Art exists to makes us feel special and science is there to tell that we're not." It made me feel proud of my pizza and realize that pizza, well, it's not that big a deal. More to the point, the show mentioned Shakespeare's "What a piece of work is man" speech and I thought of Macbeth's "Out,out, brief candle," and how perfectly Shakespeare captures both sides, and can see, both sides of the argument, and, and he puts us there too.
