the power of zuko & katara as a friendship and relationship stems from the depth of their canon relationship and the linkage of their emotional growth. araeph once said that if you thread solely the zuko & katara scenes of avatar the last airbender together you can see an incredibly complex and entire emotional journey with constant growth & change, with hate and trust and betrayal and some kind of love, and i think about it daily. it's special and i will always think it was a lost opportunity, but it has so much staying power and so much love in it regardless.

@peacockarehot-deactivated201707 and @araeph I made this blog a couple months ago cause I finished rewatching ATLA for the very first time since I watched it when it aired on tv when I was a kid, I had a shit ton of questions about things that happened, one of them was obviously the canon pairing that the show ended with which I didn’t find to make sense at all both Kataang and Maiko. I started googling shit like why didn’t Zuko and Katara end up together and I found links to their blogs, I started reading their meta and stuff and even made my own Tumblr account lol so I could ask them some questions. So yeah that’s the story haha, they both are great blogs with great meta, peacockarehot deactivated sadly her blog was my favorite she had amazing meta and very interesting takes on all the questions she got, very very cool blog.
