Synopsis: Cassandra learns something about you that ends your relationship.
CW/Tags: Age-gap centric. Angst.
Cassandra had always prided herself on being among the best. She had always been an overachiever whether it be top marks in her classes, marrying into one of the most powerful families in Piltover, or taking up the mantle as head of the city's council. Cassandra had never busied herself with the trivial ongoings of the other housewives of Piltover because she had always seen herself as leagues above them. Maybe if she had tapped into things a little better, she would have realized how much like them she really was.
Affairs were nothing new to Piltover's high society types. Your own parents hadn't been faithful since you were a baby. Cassandra's own marriage was loving, but that didn't mean it wasn't without its secrets. Eventually, you became one of those secrets. Cassandra had been diligent at first in keeping you away, something you learned hadn't been necessary at all.
Tobias seemed to know exactly why you were there when Cassandra invited you over. The councilwoman and her husband did patron a lot of university students and you wondered if maybe one or two were for his amusement as well. Not even Caitlyn seemed all that surprised when she walked in on you cozying up to Cassandra over a cup of tea that wound up forgotten on the table for the taste of one another's lips.
"Cassandra, there's a letter for you!" Tobias shouted from outside of her bedroom door. You nearly scrambled to cover yourself when Cassandra just waltzed over to answer the door without a care. You didn't want to place yourself in the sort of marriage with extra partners, but you hoped that the woman you married could carry herself like Cassandra Kiramman.
"Thank you dear," Cassandra said. You averted your eyes at the chaste kiss she gave him. There was an apologetic look on her face, as if she was attempting to seem sorry for kissing her own husband. It was a childish surge of jealousy followed by a pang of guilt that made you wish your heart would stop beating so loudly for a married woman. "Oh, it's from your family's estate. Interesting, I was fully convinced your mother hated me."
"She probably does, but that woman hates everyone. It's just about my birthday celebration. She thinks that 20 is a big one, so she's invited a quarter of the damn city's population. Apparently, even the Medardas received an invitation," you scoffed. You were too busy ranting about your mother's extravagant guest list to notice the way Cassandra tensed up when you revealed your age.
Cassandra had known you were younger, she had working eyes after all but she assumed you were older than just 20. Technically, you weren't even 20 yet, making you multiple years younger than Caitlyn. Suddenly, Cassandra felt sick at the sight of you laid up in her bed. She couldn't shake the feeling that she had done something egregious. It wasn't until Cassandra began to pace around the room with a paling complexion that you noticed anything was wrong.
"Cass?" Her eyes darted over towards you the moment you spoke. You looked so small and scared, wrapped up in one of her blankets. You were young, too young to know better in Cassandra's mind. She should have been more careful when picking a partner. She shouldn't have prowled the university like a predator, but your brilliance made you seem wise beyond your years. "D-did I do something wrong?"
"You've done nothing dear, but I think it's best if you leave. T-there's something I forgot needed my attention today. Send your mother my regards on not being able to attend your party," Cassandra told you. It felt oddly formal, and you could tell that something had broken between the two of you.
"Bullshit, you cleared your schedule. What's this about?" you asked her. Cassandra's hands shook as she ran them through her hair. "Talk to me, maybe we can fix this. If it's about my mother, I won't even be at the estate much longer."
"It's not about your mother, I didn't know. M-maybe I did and I just wanted to ignore it. Fuck, Tobias and I were probably teaching Caitlyn how to read when you were born. I can't do this anymore, you're too young, it's wrong. It's disgusting."
"It's not disgusting that I love you," you tried to argue. Tears prickled at your eyes before falling openly.
"You don't know anything, you're a stupid child! You think this is fine, but it isn't. Get out of here please. Find someone closer to your own age, maybe work out whatever made you think you love me," Cassandra said. Her words were harsh, but it did the trick in getting you out. You scurried out of the Kiramman mansion without ever wanting to see Cassandra again. You were embarrassed, but there wasn't a soul in your life you felt like you could talk to about it, so you just ran until you found yourself somewhere that you'd never run into Cassandra, Zaun.
Synopsis: You show up to the Kiramman family Gala as Jayce's date and Caitlyn tries to figure out why you're avoiding her.
Part 1
Nervous didn't even begin to describe the way you felt. You had never quite fit into the high society part of Caitlyn's life, and this party was no different. The fact that you weren't here as Caitlyn's wife only made it worse. Jayce had invited you as his date for the night, a move which felt a lot like some sort of trap. He claimed to be just as much your friend as Caitlyn's, but you knew just how much of a mistake he thought your divorce was.
"Stop fidgeting," Jayce said softly as he took your hand. The two of you had always been close. The Kirammans had given him a lot of opportunities, but despite that, he had shown up for you when it mattered. Almost every night that you needed someone, he had been the one to show up.
"They're staring at me." You leaned into his side to whisper. You never knew who was listening in at these parties. The high society types were terrible gossips, worse than anyone else you knew. You had hoped these sorts of things were past you after your divorce, but that didn't seem to be the case.
"Because you look beautiful, and they're used to the prettiest woman here being on Kiramman's arm." Jayce's smile was disarming. He knew that he had you relaxed, even if it was just a little. Both of you knew that whatever good time you were going to have would be over the moment you saw Caitlyn. "Tonight, it's my turn."
"Careful, you're going to give someone the wrong idea," you warned. Jayce brushed it off as he led you deeper into the thick of things. Most of the faces were familiar, but none of them cared enough to speak with you. It was another reminder that this was Caitlyn's world and you were still being dragged into it.
"Relax," Jayce whispered. Once again he leaned in a little too close to be seen as truly friendly. You knew that he didn't mean it in a romantic way, not when he was still frustratingly trying to get Victor to acknowledge their chemistry. You felt bad for him, well aware of the years Jayce had been harboring feelings for his best friend. "You have nothing to worry about."
"Easy for you to say, you and your ex are on good terms," you huffed. Jayce rolled his eyes at your comment. Things hadn't gotten bad with Mel, but only because they had agreed to end things. Caitlyn had ignored you throughout your marriage all while having the audacity to act blindsided when you called it quits. "Mine has made it her life's mission to make me miserable."
"Cait's just hurting." You rolled your eyes at his defense of her. It was hard to be reminded that Caitlyn was one of his closest friends. As if he could sense that he had messed up, Jayce grabbed your hand and tugged you towards the dance floor. It was nothing special, but you enjoyed the slow dance with Jayce. Dancing had always been one of your favorite activities, but Caitlyn had always been too busy networking to ever dance with you.
"Is it hard trying to be there for both of us?"
"Sometimes, yeah. I wish you had stayed together because you were both so happy, but I get why you had to leave. I don't say it because it feels wrong, even after all this time. Cait, she'd do things differently if you gave her another chance," Jayce told you. You knew that he wasn't lying, but you weren't ready to just let Caitlyn back in yet.
"Jayce, there's a professor dying to meet you. I can cut in." Caitlyn took his spot effortlessly. There was no room for argument as her hands came to rest on your waist. She held you closer than Jayce had and with a far less subtle grasp. Caitlyn was practically feeling you up as she stared down at you with a possessive edge to her gaze. "I thought you hated these."
"I do, but Jayce insisted that I needed a night out." You didn't owe Caitlyn an answer or explanation, but you gave one anyway. "Where's Violet?"
"Zaun, probably. We're not together anymore. She wasn't ready for settling down. How long have you and Jayce been..." Caitlyn trailed off, as if she couldn't force herself to assume you were together.
"We aren't, and you know that. You just want to make assumptions and throw a fit." Caitlyn's jaw clenched at your accusation. It was true, and that was precisely why she hated hearing it so much. Caitlyn liked to think of herself as above jealousy or possessiveness, but you knew the truth. It practically made her skin crawl to see anyone else look at you the wrong way. "He's going to come back and realize nobody wanted to talk to him."
"Am I really that bad to be around?" Caitlyn asked. For a moment, you almost felt bad for her. She had tried this before, however, so you knew not to take the bait this time. Caitlyn glanced down at you with genuine tears in her eyes, something that did take you a bit by surprise. "You used to love me, babe."
"Yeah, I did love you a lot Caitlyn. I loved the time we spent together before your career took the front seat. I loved the way we'd plan our future. I loved the way you cried holding our son for the first time. I loved you even after you picked success over your family," you told her. Truthfully, you still loved Caitlyn. You would always love her, but you couldn't let her think you were anywhere near ready to take her back. Caitlyn had been on this since you split, and unfortunately, she had begun to wear you down before she started seeing Maddie.
"Yeah, I liked myself a lot more before that stuff too," Caitlyn mumbled. She ducked her head down and tried to bury her face in th side of your neck. The warmth of her breath against your skin sent chills down your spine. "I miss you so fucking bad."
"Cait, not here," you told her. Still, there was no attempt to push her away. You let yourself bask in the comfort of being back in her arms, even with an audience. A few seconds longer and you swore your resolve would be completely gone, and just like a knight in shining armor, Jayce came back to stop you from making another mistake.
"Thank you for keeping Y/n company." Caitlyn tried to linger as Jayce took her spot, but he subtly pushed her away. You could feel her eyes on you for the rest of the night, but Jayce kept you in high spirits. Your night easily could have been ruined, but your friend worked tirelessly to distract you from Caitlyn's very public sulking session.
Sevika has only ever worked blue collar jobs. Landscaping as a younger teenager in the summer before transitioning to construction after she drops out. When she's a bit older, she takes a break to work in a factory after the construction company merges. By the time you get together, Sevika has gotten into welding.
She prefers to take jobs that will keep her close to you, but sometimes the pay for travel is actually too good to pass up. If she leaves, Sevika 100% buys you some sort of gift to distract you (it doesn't work and you miss her terribly)
You pack Sevika's lunch with the meal prep she makes for throughout the week. You like to add a few snacks to keep her hunger satisfied and a cute letter or two so she knows how much you love her.
Sevika's hands are rough, and at first, she doesn't want to touch you because of it. You offer up all sorts of lotions and creams, but Sevika does manage to get over it because how could she not hold your hand.
Guys at work start buying the lotions she uses and they start getting hair and skin tips from her. Sevika thought it was a joke at first, but the longer it goes on the less she's sure of it.
Absolutely loves leaning into a more masculine style when the two of you go out. Especially if you're dressed in something cute and frilly because it makes people stare. Sevika is feminine enough that she knows anyone who misgenders her is just trying to be an asshole (and she enjoys the arguments)
You don't have to work if you do not want to, and Sevika makes it clear that even if you don't work, she wouldn't expect you to suddenly start playing housewife. She wants you to find everything you enjoy and will give you all the time in the world to do so.
She's in awe of any artistic talent you have because she swears that she has none. You've seen her weld little sculptures when she's bored and know how untrue that sentiment is.
Sevika is a woman of routine and her most important part is the post-work hot bath. She's soaking in oils and salts mixed specifically to deal with the pain and aches she gets throughout the day.
If you bring her a glass of win or a snack during her soak, she's treating you like a princess in the bedroom later.
Cooking is a together thing even though Sevika is definitely in charge. Sometimes your entire job is to have a glass of wine and let her take a sip or two as she cooks.
Sevika also bakes a lot on her days off. She likes to bake after going to the gym, claiming that's her reward. Sometimes it's protein treats, but most of the time she just makes you a little cake to show her appreciation.
When she's on the road, Sevika will always be on the phone with you. She doesn't care if she's riding alone or not, the guys know better than to try and tease her about you. Someone made a comment once and might as well have disappeared.
She drank a lot as a coping mechanism for the stress of it all and definitely did some shimmer to take the edge off, but she weans herself off of it when you get serious. She still drinks, but Sevika would rather die than let you see her fucked up on shimmer.
If she knows you're gonna be home before she can shower after work, Sevika gives herself a few heavy sprays of a cologne that masks the smell of sweat, metal, and fire as best that anything can. She won't kiss you until she's clean, purely out of respect.
I think my dad is going to kill my mom at some point
so my mom and dad have never been good together. They always argue, insult each other, refuse to communicate etc. They're basically not even a couple now, but yhey still live together
In February my mom attempted to kick my dad out of the house( again) because while she was outside a night prior with a friend, this drunk ass woman approached her,got all aggressive with her and claimed she was my dad's girlfriend.
At the end he didn't go as always because he always stayed despite this not being the first time it happens. He claims he's here just for me and my sister.
In april, my sibling and I went to my aunt's for the Easter holidays and stayed there a few days. When we came back, things were worse.
My mom started seeing someone new( as in like chatting and stuff) and they only had one date before they stopped talking to each other. For some reason, SHE TOLD MY DAD
I just saw him yelling at her as if she cheated on her( and as if he hasn't done the same!!) while she cried. He was so hurt that he even got a few days off work and he'd just be home drunk and fucking everyone's life up. He's always had a problem with alcohol to the point where he also had a car incident while drunk driving with WHO WE ASSUMED WAS HIS GIRLFRIEND.
The next few weeks my parents ignored what happened and pretended to be a normal couple again. They even started doing stuff I've never seen them doing like kissing, dancing together, and sharing a bed. I told myself this would have lasted a month MAX and boy was I right.
Later on,they would switch between being all lovey dovey and arguing, and soon enough, it'd all return back to "order".
My father would start asking me to call or text my mom and tell her where she was, if she needed to be picked up from work etc. but he wouldn't trust her with even going out on her own anymore. He was soooo creepy.
This month, things got even worse, as my dad discovered she kept seeing this dude and so today my dad kept slut-shaming her and insulting her because apparently she couldn't do that despite being technically single.
He also threatened to take my custody and I didn't hear anything after that. I wanted to ignore because I was about to cry.
But then my mom would start yelling "DO IT, KILL ME!" to him while he had the calmest expression in the world.
As my mother went to the kitchen to cry more my dad tells me to go comfort her and hug her
"Go hug your mother, she's going through a hard time."
Right after insulting her in every way possible.
She then fell asleep in her room. My father calls me and speaks to me privately.
"I love you and mom loves you as much as I do. You know I would never hurt her and I won't take custody of you. I would never take a daughter from her mom."
- basically a summary of what he said to me
so now I'm in bed contemplating about everything that happened while waiting for my sister to get home.
This is gonna be a long ahh summer omg can't the sun explode already

Tags/CW: Modern AU. Divorced!Sevika. Ex-wife!Jinx. A little tease of something smutty.
It was hard to tell how removed Sevika actually was from Jinx sometimes. The two of them had been in the process of separating when you moved into the building, and years later, you almost felt like they were back together again. It was hard not to when Jinx would drop Isha off for Sevika's weekend, leave, and then come back at some time during the night. You had watched her scurry off before Isha woke up more times than you could, obviously in the middle of a walk of shame.
The only thing was, Jinx wasn't ashamed. Nobody lucky enough to grace Sevika's bed came out ashamed. The stream of women had lessened recently, aside from Jinx who seemed to be over even more. That was where your confusion set in. You had heard of people getting divorced only to make up years later. It easily could have just been the wrong time for them, and while you were happy for Sevika, you hated the thought.
"Jinx, we need to talk about this," Sevika said as she tried to chase after the blue haired woman. You normally crossed paths with Jinx on her way out as you came back from your night shift, but rarely did Sevika ever come out with her. "You can't just run away from me."
"Not in every situation, but I can right now." Jinx didn't stop her brisk walk down the hall. She glanced at you as she passed, obviously distracted by her attempt at fleeing. Sevika broke into a run to catch her, but Jinx shut the elevator door before she could get there.
"Fuck!" Sevika swore as she kicked at the door. You normally would have run and hid in your apartment, but a bigger part of you wanted to comfort Sevika. It had been nearly a year since she bent you over half the surfaces in your apartment and tainted the space. Ten and a half months to be exact, and you had been thinking about her ever since. "I can't fucking believe her."
"Is everything okay?" you asked gingerly. Everybody in the building who knew her loved Isha, but Sevika was a different story. The woman was brash and stand-offish, but you liked her. She had her moments of being someone sweeter, quite a few reserved for you.
"I don't even know anymore. She comes over to talk, but drops a bomb on me and runs. I don't know why I expected anything else, she always does this," Sevika sighed. You wanted to offer her some comfort, but you knew she had to get Isha ready for her day. "How was your shift? Sometimes I miss getting out at night."
"It was fine, and you do get out at night from what I hear," you teased. Sevika leaned in a little, not close enough to mean anything, but enough for your heart to beat a little faster.
"Not so much anymore, but you know what I mean. A few hours at Babette's after roughing up some dickhead who wanted to act tough in the wrong territory." The smile on Sevika's face as she reminisced was a subtle one. You couldn't imagine her former occupation as Silco's trusted thug had been a good one. There were rumors she still did odd jobs for him, but the man had reluctantly found others to take her spot when Isha came around.
"And here I thought you didn't have to pay for it. How is there ever going to be hope for the rest of us?" Sevika rolled her eyes at your question, but didn't say anything else about it. A surge of jealousy came up at Sevika's lack of denial before you told yourself to calm down, Sevika wasn't yours. "I should let you get back inside, shouldn't I?"
"Probably, gotta get breakfast for the kid. I hope I'll see you around later," Sevika told you. She gave you a very obvious look-over before she went in, leaving you to stand outside and calm your heart once more.
...
"Isha, please," Sevika pleaded with the sobbing child. She had barely been around her daughter for more than a weekend at a time since the girl was a toddler, and even then, Sevika hadn't been around much. Jinx had taken on most of the parenting, but it wasn't like she was alone. Jinx had a family where Sevika had always been alone. Things had been rocky at best with Vander for a while, not that Sevika didn't understand why. In his eyes, she had crossed a major line in just sleeping with Jinx, much less marrying her and letting the relationship implode.
You could hear the crying through the door. Jinx had been gone for a few weeks now, and while your heart melted when you saw Sevika and Isha, you knew it wore Sevika down. She was trying her best, but it was obvious Isha was beginning to feel some sort of way about Jinx leaving her. That woman had been the only constant in Isha's life for a long time, and these tantrums in the morning seemed to come with an increasing frequency.
"I know you want Mommy, but right now, I'm the one that's here so please work with me. Come on, we're going to see Aunt Vi and Caitlyn. Maybe Papa and Grandpa will be there too." Sevika dropped every name she could in an attempt to calm Isha down. None of it seemed to work as the girl continued to wail and drag her feet. A few second passed before you heard a knock at your front door.
"Sevika, hey," you greeted. She looked absolutely exhausted as she stood in front of you. "Is everything okay?"
"Can I come in here for a minute please? She won't stop crying and signing that she hates me. I can't do it right now. Please," Sevika asked you. You stepped aside and let her in, ignoring the way the tears in her eyes were starting to spill. Quietly, you stepped into the hallway and knelt down in front of Isha.
"Uh oh, it looks like something is wrong here," you said softly. Isha looked up at you with teary eyes, ones that looked so much like Sevika's. Immediately, Isha launched herself into your arms. She nearly tackled you to the ground with the force of her hug, desperate for physical comfort. "It's okay honey. I hear that you're going somewhere today."
Isha nodded, but didn't remove her head from your shoulder. You let her sobs quiet down before you carried her into your apartment. Sevika watched you move around with the girl, as if you were meant to carry her. A pang of guilt struck her in the chest at the sight of you doing the job Sevika was meant to. Somehow despite all of Jinx's problems, Sevika was still the parent who couldn't figure it out for the life of her.
"Here, drink up. I wouldn't want you to cry yourself dry." You placed Isha on the counter to sit with a cup of water. She drank it down quickly in the way you had only ever seen a small child do. "I don't have many snacks here, but do you want a cookie?"
Isha gave you another nod and signed what you assumed was her thanks towards you. Sevika got up and stood in the kitchen walkway. There was something easy about the way you were with her. Sevika watched in the hope of replicating it, but Sevika knew that there was really no point to it. She lacked that maternal instinct, no matter how strong her love for Isha was.
"Hi bug," Sevika said as Isha finally waved her over. You stepped back to give them a moment, but Sevika grabbed your wrist. "Thank you for this, I don't know what I would have done without you around. She's going away for the weekend if you're willing to give me a chance to make it up to you."
"I'd like that a lot."
...
"Sev," you whined as your fingers threaded in her hair. Sevika was on her knees in front of you. The couch was barely more than a few feet away, but Sevika needed you now. She knew that you needed her just as bad from the way your hips seemed to move with her head.
"Shh, I know baby," Sevika cooed. She hooked her fingers around your waistband and pulled both your pants and underwear down your legs at the same time. It was in that instant that Sevika's mouth was on you, hungrily lapping at every inch of you she could. You leaned over, nearly folding yourself in half over her body. You could feel yourself getting close when the door was yanked open behind you, and if not for Sevika's grip on your hips, you surely would have fallen.
"Go to the stairs," Jinx said as she quickly spun Isha around. The girl moved without a second order as Jinx closed the door to shield your body from the open hallway. "I bet you didn't waste any time, did you?"
"Powder," Sevika sighed. You looked between the two of them. Jinx looked pissed and Sevika looked guilty. She hung her head and refused to look at either of you as you fixed your pants. "I'm sorry. You were gone for six months, that's a long time."
"I'm sure that it is for you. You can barely handle a weekend before you're calling me over for help. Let me guess, she came to you crying and asking for a little break. Her eyes really shine with tears in them, don't you think?" Jinx's words stuck in you like a knife. Sevika fell back onto her butt, now sat firmly on the floor. "You said you could handle things, that you'd wait for me."
"And you said it would be two weeks. What were you doing for six fucking months?" Sevika's voice raised steadily.
"I wasn't fucking the pretty little neighbor girl, that's for sure. We could have been happy again Vika. You told me that was all you wanted, but why should I have listened to you. Do yourself a favor and just leave while you can. Isha, we're going back to Papa's!"
"Sevika, what the hell?" You let your back hit the door as you slid onto the floor. "What was that? What's going on?"
"Jinx, she went away for a little bit. We were in a good-ish place after that fight, so I told her that I'd wait. She wanted to take some time to work on herself, and we were kind of talking about getting back together. By the time I even came to you, it had been radio silence for a month. I swear that I didn't know she even wanted to come back until a few days ago," Sevika told you. She got on her knees and crawled towards you. A part of you wanted to shove her away, but you let her lay her head in your lap instead. "Are you mad at me?"
"Sev, I'm livid. Did you tell her we were together a few days ago?" you asked.
"I didn't know if I wanted to go back or not yet," Sevika admitted. She knew from the way you tensed beneath her that was the wrong thing to say, but it was honest. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah, I bet you are." Your voice was watery as you spoke, and Sevika tried to look up at you, but you placed your hand over her eyes. She could feel the tears against her skin though. "I'm going to go, don't chase after me."
Been feeling like writing an Grayson One-Shot again lately.
Came across an vídeo on tiktok saying “that one aunt with the lady friend as a "roommate"” and it had an whole aesthetic i myself lived it, plus having “Moonlight in the river” as the song.
I can 100% imagine an entire view of Grayson being the lady friend, the one the kids loved and got happy when she came around during family gatherings às just a friend.
Like, as being the daughter of the Aunt who had a lady friend ( having a lesbian Mama lets you live some experiences in life ) and having lived this “she’s just a roommate” vibe, I think it could be a bittersweet one shot for Grayson.
