The Archangel Uriel, alias Elizabeth Fomalhaut, in colour. For my story project and hypothetical doll line Archangelette.
Uriel/Elizabeth is an angel of wisdom, arts, and sciences. She always tries to learn new things, for while knowledge can hurt, she believes it’s better than blissful ignorance. As a messenger of free will, she helps people pursue their passions for arts and sciences despite the restrictions they face.
However, unlike energetic Michael, eloquent Gabriel, and laidback Raphael, she is the least social and most timid of the archangels. While Raphael's happy to just let her be herself, Michael and Gabriel can be too eager to help push her out of her comfort zone. Despite this, Uriel can also feel left out from the other archangels, as she's the only one of the four not recognised by the Catholic Church.
As Uriel has been linked with both the Sun and the element of Earth, I’ve compromised by giving her gravity powers

As Michael, she is constantly chivalrous. Daring, dashing, and inspiring to others with her passion and bravery. However, she’s the Archangel most likely to resort to combat, forgetting to try negotiating first. This can annoy Gabriel/Maria in particular, who’s the most insistent that angels are by nature holy Messengers, not holy Enforcers. That said, mercy is an inherent part of Michael’s chivalry.
She’s always there to help Uriel/Elizabeth out of her shell, though can do so by trying to push her into the proverbial deep end. She often faild to understand when Uriel would clearly prefer some alone time. Another divide is that nervous Uriel will usually try to avoid confrontation, whereas Michael rushes into it.
With Raphael/Sarah being the healer of the four, the combative Michael can be quite dependent on her. Raphael’s laidback personality compared to Michael’s fieriness, figurative and literal, can make her feel that Raphael isn’t taking things as seriously as she should be
From before: Samael is the leader of Heaven’s prosecuting angels. Michael, who typically plays defense, is their most common rival. Samael is on the same side as the Archangels when it comes to working for Heaven, but is colder and ruthless about doing so. And while most angels will treat Judaism, Christianity, and Islam equally, Samael has bent the rules by favouring Christianity. Still, they remain an angel and not a devil as they believe in the inherent responsibility given by free will, whereas the devils would take this responsibility away.
They don’t have positive relationships with any of the four archangels. Michael’s the closest since they interact the most, but Gabriel will often come between them to keep Samael from being a bad influence on them. Samael can’t stand Raphael, not getting why an archangel would ever act so casually. As for Uriel, Samael just finds them pitiable, with Uriel often terrified back.
I gave Samael a doctor’s outfit as their name translates to ‘Venom of God’ (which also inspired their acid halo). Beneath, they’re dressed in centurion armour due to their association with Rome. They're partly the reason Uriel's character is softer than how they're portrayed in apocrypha, so they wouldn't overlap too much with Samael

From before: Raphael is the most carefree and laidback of the four archangels, lacking Gabriel’s fussiness, Michael’s energy, and Uriel’s anxiousness. Being the best healer of the angels gives her less to worry about when she can swiftly patch anything up, after all. And where the other three archangels roam the Earth either for their jobs or being stranded there after a botched summoning, Raphael is happy to travel simply because she likes to.
She’d prefer to ignore any arguments between Gabriel and Michael, but will try to play peacemaker if she has to. Whenever Gabriel and Michael aren’t united in calling her a slacker, of course. As for Uriel, Raphael is the only one of the four who accepts her as she is and won’t try to push her out of her comfort zone. Despite being the most laidback though, Raphael has not one but two Archdevils, Asmodeus and Azazel, who see her as their mortal enemy. Not that Raphael’s all that bothered by them, even as Michael insists she really should be.
I wanted to give her butterfly wings, but thought people would mistake her for a fairy. You can also feel the Snufkin influence

From before: Maria is the ‘face’ of the four Archangels, being by far the most socially adept and most familiar with humans. She is effortlessly fashionable and eloquent, yet will chide other angels for not trying to match her standards. Still, she will ultimately try to encourage people to follow their own fashion sense rather than conform to trends.
As the Messenger Angel, she is the most insistent that angels are God’s Messengers to humanity, not Enforcers. This can often lead her to clash with Jeanne/Michael, the most combative archangel. Sarah/Raphael’s casualness and carefreeness also irks her, especially her thrown-together dress sense, but appreciates that she’s less argumentative than Michael. Maria is kind and gentle with Elizabeth/Uriel, but like Michael she can see her as a problem to be fixed rather than accept Uriel won’t become a social butterfly anytime soon.
I’ve been meaning to get started drawing some of the demon characters from my Archangelette project, this prompt being the perfect motivation to do so. Although I’m starting with a half-demon or cambion: Ashmodai ben David, aka Asmodeus of the House of David.
I took a lot from him being King Solomon’s half-brother and impersonator, hence how he’s drawn to look like him (I took inspiration from Dore’s Judgment of Solomon). Those are bull and ram skulls on his shoulders, and those smashed pillars are Solomon’s Boaz and Jachin.

This was a slightly experimental piece for me, in that I went straight to drawing the pen lineart, skipping the initial pencil sketch. I did this since I was using my on-the-go sketchbook at a cafe and only had a pen available. So kinda like how I used to draw before learning the fundamentals.
Haniel’s design takes from other drawings of the Angel, such as her hair, but another inspiration on her was the album art of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. I thought of its star since Haniel, as the Angel of Venus, represents the Morning Star (replacing Lucifer, which also makes her one of the younger archangels)
