🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?
It's hard to pick just one because Tahir routinely makes me laugh. I always forget about his quips and whatnot and find something when reading back and I just crack up over it. I'm not sure what I've shared for similar questions so I'm just gonna go with this snippet from (upcoming) chapter 42 of Blood of the Wolf.
The voice that had spoken was slightly recognizable, as though [Tahir] had heard it once before and only then. It belonged to a woman, low and feminine but with a strange edge to it, as well as the Nordic lilt he was now very familiar with. He opened his eyes, his concentration broken and he hadn't even realized he closed them in the process. Ralof stood silently before him, holding a pair of shackles and a furry grey bundle, and with him was the woman that had delivered Ulfric's axe and who had been at the party, the one who looked very similar to Firien despite being Nord. Skadi.
"Well, that's just rude," Tahir said pleasantly. "We've only just met and already, you're doubting my capabilities."
A most peculiar expression flashed across her face before it disappeared, once more a carefully composed mask of disinterest. "I could say the same to you. But if you think you're strong enough to break the enchantment on those cuffs, by all means, please try."
Tahir blinked, surprised. Yrsa had said the Stormcloaks thought she was a witch, but said she doubted that herself. But if Skadi had enchanted these cuffs, it meant she was a magic user. So was she just a mage, then?
Another thought occurred to him, one that sent his mind and heart racing. Skadi had enchanted the cuffs to prevent him from Changing. He had known that Ulfric was aware of the beast blood, that Vignar had sold the Circle out to him, but how many people knew? And if she could enchant pieces of metal to suppress lycanthropy, what else could she do? Who even was she, and where did Ulfric find her?
Tahir finally found his tongue, opting to respond as he normally would instead of betraying his panic.
"Oh, so they do have a purpose then?" He examined them with feigned fascination. "Here I thought they were meant to make me look prettier than usual. I thought the silver complimented my skin tone and I can only imagine how the creepy orange glow brings out my eyes."
"Ulfric did say you were a talker," Ralof said, his tone sounding somewhat amused.
"You mean he talks about me?" Tahir replied, batting his eyelashes. "Does he think I'm pretty?"
